@HarmlessDave Yeah, in one of the interviews, the interviewer asks him specifically "why female main characters", and if I recall correctly, FUNA says something along the lines of the vast amounts of shoujo manga he's read, as well as the fact that he has two older (IIRC) sisters, probably being major influences.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I can imagine him having borrowed his sisters' reading material a lot while growing up.

Because it sells more copies of the following volume that way.
