Yet Another PWA JNC Client

is this compatible with the new reader, since i am disabled i use it for text to speach
-
@lookman373 to confirm, are you asking whether the reader on my PWA's new website is the same as the old website? Then yes, didn't make any changes there. Haven't used TTS with it, but if it worked before it should be the same.
Let me know if I didn't get you fully.
-
@crimson-wise i was asking if this site will still work when the old JN website is retired
-
@lookman373 Yes, it will. Whether TTS works for you however, can't really tell. Looking back to some old comments, it was mentioned it didn't, so that may still be the case.
-
@crimson-wise TTS works do to a Plugin on my local computer as long as the text load in TTS will work

@crimson-wise Seems the catch up for this month is broken on the new site. Instead of all the parts being available they are all locked except part 1 of each volume, even the ones that have not expired yet.
This has popped back up again, it probably occurred when midnight hit for GMT. It was fixed earlier though.
-
@crimson-wise Thanks for the updated url. Love using your work.
-
@sniper_samurai The catchups changed yesterday, so they should be available after data gets refreshed by pulling down the page, refreshing through the browser, or restarting the app. Can you confirm if you refresh it does it work?
-
@crimson-wise Yeah, they've unlocked again. Wonder what happened as they wouldn't unlock last night when I refreshed it. For some reason Jessica Bannister, which came off catch-up yesterday is still locked though.
Edit: This seems to be an error on J-Novels side.

The search function is very slow on Android to the point of crashing. Not sure if this is a problem with Chrome or the web app though as the search is fine on iOS.
Using a OnePlus 7 Pro 5g on Android 10.
-
@sniper_samurai Interesting, I can reproduce it on my Android device... I'll see what I can do.
-
On iOS, Sepia reading theme is only showing while the pop-up menu is up. After you dismiss it in order to read, the sepia color disappears to nearly the same white as Light theme.
-
@legitpancake That's actually the color is supposed to be, the menu just adds a dim effect. It has been a while, but I believe I took the colors from Edge.
That said, I don't use Sepia so I don't have a preference on the colors, they match other readers though.
Oh, regarding the issue above with search, I haven't figured out yet a solution. In case it helps anyone, you can tap on any of the covers on the Upcoming section at the top, and that will scroll you down to that series to see what parts are left, if they happen to be the series you're looking for.
-
The reader can no longer tell if a prepub is the final part or not. I wonder if something in the JNC code changed.
-
@legitpancake No, it was a bug in my side. Fixed now.

New bug has seemingly cropped up on Android. If you tap the middle of the screen to bring up the progress bar and the settings menu the part you are reading breaks. Instead of the text being continuous except for images it splits each paragraph onto a separate page.
-
@sniper_samurai Is this Chrome? Can you also provide the version?
I can reproduce it on my side (Android 12, Chrome v102) but just to confirm.
-
@Crimson-Wise Yeah, it's Android version 102.0.5005.59 of Chrome. My phone is on Android 10.
-
@sniper_samurai Thanks. It even looks worse on desktop Chrome.
For now, I can only suggest to use Firefox or another alternative.
In more detail, there seems to be some issues with CSS Columns in the latest Chrome version, which I use to simulate pagination. I'm not completely sure this is the cause, but will wait until they continue working on it before deciding what to do on my side.
