Forum issue that I'm assuming should be fixable via tweaking the theme CSS. In the Darkly theme, the gray color used for links has a tendency to almost fade into the darker gray background. This is most prominent when one goes to one's forum user page, and the list of recent/most popular posts, the links there basically disappear into the background. There have been times where, when I'm looking to click a link, I almost don't see where the link taking me back to the post in question is.

In the old version, and the manga reader, on the last screen of a release (the blue screen), information is displayed:

        • is there another part or are you at the last one?
        • link to forum
        • link back to series info

in the new version of the novel reader, you only get blue and if there is a next release when you arrow for the next screen something happens, or doesn't if there is as yet no next part.

        More information is better.

Tried to search to see if anyone had mentioned this issue yet. If someone has, then clearly the search needs improving. 8-) Being able to scope the search to the current forum, all forums, or the current relevant title would be good.

Reading Bookworm, Bibliophile, and Dahlia. Also, Girl Genius, xkcd, Witch Hat, Harpy Gee, and Suitor Armor. Looking for suggestions.

The calendar is often broken for me like hatguy12 where books release on a day is listed horizontally rather than vertical. This happens with both mobile and desktop sites. This had been happening since the new site release.

          OS: Andriod 5.0.1 GT-i9505 Build/LRX22C
          Chrome: 89.0.4389.105

@aceofmuffins This issue has been confirmed across all platforms.

For now, the only solution is to make sure to navigate to the calendar using the link on the homepage.

Any direct route using the URL, or refreshing the page, will trigger the bug.

So far, I love most of the new site. Caveat? You should be able to (tell where to) click on a release and get the series, not just auto load the weeks release part. Minor annoyance but an annoyance nonetheless.

So I’m not sure if this has been answered or if it is problem for anyone else but for me it is impossible to log onto the website on my iPad mini.

I have tried three different web browsers ( Safari, chrome, Firefox) and for every single one it will not log in.

The login button just will not work, it’s like it doesn’t exist, I push it and nothing happens.

@catstorm Hm, one of our staff just tried logging in using their iPad Mini and it worked just fine. Do you have any addons for your browsers that you can try disabling? Can you also tell us what exact model of iPad Mini and what iOS version?

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

I can concede it could be due to it's age as it is an original model iPad mini 1 and the IOS is 9.3.6 because that's as high as it can go.

                    I also don't have any add-ons.

@catstorm If you can make a screen recordering, or take screenshots of the process and the failing login screen, and send them to chocolatkey@j-novel.club, I could try some further investigation. Unfortunately, due to third-party dependencies' requirements, the new JNC app supports iOS 10 at minimum, so I won't suggest that.

Happy feedback: it's so nice having the "updated" label on stuff in my library when a new version gets put out. I see it's there, I download it, the label disappears! :D

I check once in a while, it's still impossible to show only 1 page with the new reader like in the old one (or it's ridiculously wide). So I still use the old reader.

That option was on the TODO list at some point, is there an ETA ?

                          Thanks.

Also might it not be better to split the topic for the new website between "new website" and "new reader" ?

@manusdei Maybe it's not precisely what you're looking for, but if you toggle into vertical scrolling mode using the last button along the bottom you can then toggle between wide and narrow scrolling using the penultimate button along the bottom that replaces the one/two page button.

My talking sword has a point. And is also right.

Yeap. Width is fine but I don't really like the vertical scrolling. Thanks for the info anyway :)

                                Case:

I open an information page of a book.

I want to read the summary of the new book that's still being written.

This summary is not pleasant to read, because of the bright-green buttons and chapter-information that are distracting.

                                Possible solutions:

Tone down the colours of these green buttons a notch
Add padding to put space between the text and the buttons.

I'd like to be able to disable the tap to advance function on the reader. I often find myself accidentally tapping down the part on mobile when I'm just trying to get rid of the navigation bar border.

An update has been deployed, including the following changes:

                                    • A follow and unfollow button has been added to the series overview. This makes it possible for you to follow a given series without opening that series’ page.
                                    • The expiry label now has an estimated date instead of just displaying TBD.
                                    • An issue with how volumes are being parsed has been fixed. This specifically means that when you press a bookworm manga on the front page, it should now take you to the right volume instead of the volume with same number from part 1.
                                    • Version 0.7.0 of the app currently in beta has a an alternative sign-in feature. When a code from the app is entered on the "App Code Sign-In" page , the app will log into your user account.

Would be nice to have some kind of icon/indication in the calendar if we've already fully read the LN part/manga chapter. Or show a % if it's not fully read so you can find right away what you still haven't read of your followed series.

The link from "how it works" to "browse titles with physical releases" does not take you to a list of titles with physical releases.

I'm uncertain if this has been posted before, but couldn't find any, so here goes:

The titles with physical releases don't have any indication on how to find those. At least, I had problems finding out which of the Ascendance of a Bookworm volumes had a release, and what ISBNs were linked to which volumes. This can sometimes be found through the e-book shops that happen to also sell the physical release, and happen to have an easy relation between the two, but that's not always there, and it's a tedious extra step, because the 'check stores' panel is not a button that would get me to any stores that would have the book.

Additionally, the 'check stores' tag is not an indicator a physical release has actually been announced: all volumes of a printed series get that tag, not only those that have store pages in any store (example: Bookworm novel, P4V2, is not in print, but has the 'check stores' tag)

Do you have any plans on adding and displaying ISBNs, or other standardized identifiers, using which we can find (and/or preorder/buy) the physical releases in (online or physical) shops whenever that print releases?

I have a similar request for a visible unique identifier ebooks if such a thing is possible/feasable, although in that case the links to the e-stores are already quite useful in finding the e-book.
