(New) App Feedback
-
@Khaos Good to know! Thanks!

I'm going to read one of the prepubs and when I click to make it full screen or force closes
-
@Tiko424 could you please let me know your device's model/OS version, and put a screenshot link that works?

Pixel 4 XL,
Android 11
Build Number RQ1A.201205.008 -
@Tiko424 Unfortunately I found out earlier that the app may crash under certain circumstances in Android 11. I have submitted a version 0.5.1 that may fix this
-
Awesome looking forward to the update if I had the file I'd side lode it....
-
@chocolatkey Odd now I am showing something a bit different.
First image is my "standard" releases page. It has a duplicate entry for 'My Friend's Little Sister', one is showing correctly (read) and the other incorrectly (unread). Also any other titles that are read before this are showing incorrectly as unread such as "Black Summoner" or "Seirei Gensouki".
Second image is my "Following" releases page and all seems to be showing correctly.
-
When I try to make the reader go full screen, the beta app crashes.
My phone is a Pixel 3XL running Android 11. The JNC app is the 2020-12-21 version.

@stache13 @Tiko424 as mentioned, it seems this is a problem specific to Android 11, which I made the mistake of not testing the app out with. I have submitted an update, 0.5.1, that hopefully fixes this bug. Since it seems that there are a reasonable amount of people with this issue (and it's Christmas time which can lead to slow review speed) here are the builds if you want to sideload the app, and you can let me know if it worked. Do so at your own risk, and be aware that you won't receive updates. Otherwise, please wait until version 0.5.1 has been approved.

That fixed it for me.

Hi there!!!
Loving the dark and not-so dark backgrounds in iOS, I feel it lacks a gray tone in between light and dark tones. Also, is this a bug or a feature?
Since the last update I can see some releases highlighted in green, some of them are in my follow list and others don’tFor example, this week’s releases:
Ascendance of a bookworm - following
My instant death ability - not followingThe rest is not highlighted
(How can I post a picture here?)
Thank you <3
-
@Kamechan88 This is my understanding in regards to the green. When reading it will show blue as you progress and green when you have completed reading that chapter. It won't show anything if you haven't started to read.
So I guess the question is did you read both of them?
-
Suggestion:
It would be nice to be able to go to a title and see all parts including the ones that haven't released. The ones that haven't released could be shadowed or blocked.
To further that suggestion it would be nice to see the estimated date of release that way we don't have to to pull up the calendar on the site if we just want to use the app.
-
I’m not entirely sure if someone else has mentioned it, but I think it would be kinda nice to have more options on the filter option when viewing series. Like only viewing Light Novels, similar to the beta version of the website. I’m on iOS on an iPad Pro if that helps.

@Kamechan88 As jdmmis said, the green and blue are your progress; green means you've completely read the part, blue means you've partially read it. As for pictures, you can use a free image host like Imgur or Gyazo, then use the URL to post a picture. If you look at the post options, there should be a "Picture" button that will prompt you to paste a URL and take care of the forum code for you.
@Laurion96 Right now, the light novel/manga filter is in the magnifying glass. Tap that and the option to only show one or the other appears.
-
I would also like to put out my opinion that I'd rather have the manga-only and novel-only buttons in the filter button rather than the search button.
Also, epub download on my iPhone 8 used to work by pulling up an in-app Safari browser, and I could import it to iBooks. I liked that. Now, however, the button doesn't do anything when pushed. Don't know if that's on my end or not.

Random comments.
- Epub download button appears and is active for volume preorders too. Obviously it just opens a browser to a 404 page.
- When opening a volume by long-pressing on a part in the releases tab, updating read status and going back to the releases tab, the status isn't shown updated and requires a pull-to-refresh to re-render.
- By the way, I'd prefer the long press on a part to trigger a list of actions to choose from, consistent for all screens. Maybe it'd also make sense to swipe right on a part to mark as read and left to mark as unread? Dunno.
- Repeating this one because it annoys me so much: when doing some inertial scrolling and tapping the screen to stop the scroll, the tap triggers toggling the interface. No other app does this. At least now that the interface floats on top of the text it doesn't move it, but it's still pretty annoying. I'll be switching to pages when that's ready, though, so expect me to be fussy about that too.
- I don't know if this is covered by the "landscape support lacking" line, but just in case: when changing orientation from portrait to landscape or viceversa, it moves where you are on the part. This depends on how far into the part you are. At 0% it doesn't do anything, at 100% it's a lot. I guess this depends on the difference of how much text the screen can fit in each orientation.
- Support for the iOS mostly-standard action of sliding from the left edge to navigate back would be great. I keep doing it on autopilot and nothing happens.
- My session expired and the app noticed and told me! Nice.

Still does that for me. iPhone XS Max on iOS 14.3
-
@Nosgoroth Hmm, I'm still on 14.2, so let me update and see if that did anything.
Edit: Just updated iOS to 14.3 and that seemed to fix it. Interesting.
