Any thoughts or wishes for this? I’m pretty new to J-Novel club so I don’t now how the staff choose, and couldn’t find any treads that discusses the process.

@Soul47 Generally, they either pick a theme and a bunch of series related to that theme, or just works that have been near the back of the pile recently.

The only set rules I know of:

        1. A series will not be on catch-up two months in a row unless extremely special circumstances apply.
        2. Ao Oni is always on catch-up in October.

@Soul47 Since you are new, it is worth noting that the catch ups only unlock the pre-pubs for a series, not the final published volumes, so you will be missing out on some content that is only released in the final version (also, if you are reading books that you have purchased through the web reader and not downloading the epubs you are only reading the pre-pub version without the full content)

@Soul47 I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Food Porn" or cooking related series on catch-up because of Thanksgiving, so possibly something like "Cooking With Wild Game" or "Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower".

I guessed at Bookworm when the second season launched. Translation of volume 7 of Fushi No Yumi just started, which is probably why it was selected for catch-up.

Relevant factors have definitely come up before to pick the series. Sometimes it's that the next volume is about to begin prepubs after a while off, sometimes it's that it has an anime airing.
Mixed Bathing is one I wouldn't be surprised to see, since it has the final volume currently in prepubs after a big gap. Getting people interested in it when it's about to be complete might be helpful in reminding them the series event exists.
Also possible that they'll pick another Sol Press rescue after VRMMO this month.
