One Year Survey and Catchup Time for Launch Titles!

@aruseus493 I'd be happy to release some of them, sure.
Like one answer I found really interesting is the "do you watch anime before reading the ln, or read the ln before wathcing the anime", and it's split pretty evenly at 53% read before watch, 43% watch before read, and like 4-5% only read.
-
@sam-pinansky I found that question hard to answer for the following reasons:
- I don't know about most light novels before they get animated
- Light novels are more likely to be translated after an anime gets released
- I start reading most light novels because I like the anime adaption and want to experience the "original" - even more so if the anime was not a full adaption
All points are also valid for mangas of course. So I watch anime before reading the LN because I have no choice. I have read very very few mangas before they got an anime adaption, but I'd call those coincidences. ;-)
-
I don't like treading the same territory twice, so LN only for me... At least for now. Most anime end unresolved or with anime original stuff these days, so I don't want to invest the time in an anime adaptation of LN or visual novel content (especially the latter, since that usually ruins the game experience).
I wouldn't mind re-experiencing something in anime form down the line once I forget about the early LN content.
-
@sam-pinansky interesting, I tend to read the manga 1st BUT I collect LN and WN as PDFs so I usually already have the LN/WN if fans are translating it. The anime/manga serves as motivation to read them since if the series is good I would want to know what happens next. Rarely I watch an anime that gets me into the LN/WN without me never hearing about the title. When I wasn't a huge fan of reading in my younger days it was usually anime that introduced me to a series.
-
I really hope they allow google play payments as soon as possible.
-
I first got into light novels because I found out the Baccano anime was actually based on a book series. These days I'm mostly a light novel-only fan but if I hear an anime is particularly good then I'll watch it after I'm caught up on the light novels.
-
I got into LNs cause I discover the TWGOK manga had an additional LN spin-off which I hunted down cause I love TWGOK. :3
-
I'm not even sure when I first even encountered the term, but prior to Boogiepop and Haruhi etc. I think my first LNs were ones I picked up at random from comic stores, like Junk Force and the Onegai Twins one.

OK, Add -chan, -san, -sama. Nice Survey.
-
Late to the survey but it was a fun one and gave us a lot of options, told my buddy to get on and take it aswell since he is a premium member aswell. He just doesn't use the forums.
-
Let's say I forgot that I had copied the code at the end of the survey and some how lost it, is there anyway I could retrieve it or something? Or am I D-O-N-E?
-
@imilyaz Code at the end if the Survey? I can't see any code.
-
-
@hatguy12 tried, there was no code at all!
-
@zchronos I'm pretty sure there was one the first time I did it.
-
@imilyaz said in One Year Survey and Catchup Time for Launch Titles!:
@hatguy12 tried, there was no code at all!
I literally opened the survey just now, clicked "NEXT" through every page until I got to page 13, and see the code at the end.
-
@myskaros okk guess I'll try again
-
@myskaros I found it. My mistake was that I looked for the code AFTER I had clicked send. Thanks
-
Would it be possible to read books we've purchased with credits through the JNC reader? I'm probably a weirdo, but I like the reader for the epubs and would prefer to use that. There's something about how it's set up in the browser than makes it easy to read through.

@sam-rockwell
I 2nd your proposal. I just binged watched Classroom of the Elite (found it on Hulu) typical 12th episode ending that leaves me wanting to read what happens next. I have to keep reminding myself that 12 episode animes are often extended commercials for LN/Manga that may or may not be available in my market.
