Dark Theme & intro to Care Your Eyes Chrome Plugin
-
I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but reading prepub on desktop browser can get eye straining for me after a while. Have you guys thought about implementing a dark theme like youtube now has and some forums are doing?
For now I'm using Care Your Eyes plugin for chrome to switch the site to a dark color scheme but it's not perfect and I would always prefer something being natively supported. Below are screenshots of it in action. I have it set to whitelist mode, enable on this site, and then Night Mode (colors are automatically chosen based on default colors). I actually really like the goldenrod color scheme it has converted it to.

I'd like something like this but for mobile, since that's where I do most of my reading. The current system darkens everything but the text page.

I use the text to speech so I don't have to stare at the screen. Forums are on dark theme for me.
Do you use any programs for blue light management on your phone? The one I used to use, Twilight, added permissions I don't want to agree to, and the replacement I tried sucked. =[

There's a new dark theme plugin for Chrome that was introduced a couple days a ago here. I've been using it since then and it's quite good. They're also developing a Firefox version too.

@lnfantastic Thanks for the tip on the Chrome plugin. I was having exactly the same problem. White background with black text is a cardinal sin of reading novels on the web
