      volume 1

Alt titles: だって、私はフリーダム! 魔工士フェイ、古代文明に挑みます, Datte, Watashi wa Freedom! Makou-shi Fey, Kodai Bunmei ni Idomimasu

      Author: Tarou Hitsuji (Akashic Records)
      Artist: Akitake Azumi
      Publisher: Micro Magazine (GCN Bunko)
      Volumes: 1 (releases August 2025)

      Synopsis:

The sword genius returns—with a machine gun in hand!?
      Yohtaro Hitsuji's latest work!
The archaeology romance x battle action begins.

      Fey Lionhart. Age 17.
A sword genius born into a distinguished samurai family returns from a journey of training to become the strongest swordsman—and for some reason, with a magical machine gun in hand.

"Honestly, guns are stronger than swords, right?"

Fey had abandoned her sword and become obsessed with ancient technology, becoming a research-obsessed, trigger-happy person. Naturally, she was disowned by her family and left homeless.

"So, I guess I'll just keep trying to master ancient technology!!"

But even being disowned doesn't hold her back—Fey uses her inherent freedom to challenge the mysteries of ancient civilizations!
Today, gunfire, explosions, and the shouts and screams of her allies echo through the ruins.
The unrestrained archaeology battle fantasy is born!

Comments: I was suggested to make this topic on the discord. I’m guessing it’s because of the author having done Akashic Records before (which I heard was a very requested series), but the summary alone is pretty interesting.
