When I first came across the series, I read the light novel volumes one after another. Not in as short an amount of time as you, but steadily until I caught up.

What do you like about the series? I like a bunch of things about it, for example how Souma acts respectfully toward his love interests, the comedic aspect to scenes such as the cooking jewel broadcasts, the geeky political commentary such as the criticism of the Helsinki accord, the fantastical elements such as the dragons. I think the author does a good job of putting the various elements together in an entertaining way.

Let me guess, the tailor oji-san is the one who will provide the rug? Maybe, since he works more or less in that line of work and she’s basically on the run right now.

@hopebestman i dont want to create a whole discussion about it. Its just funny how magic system works in different LNs. Most of the isekai MCs are adjust quickly because they are geek like us. But thinking about "which magic system works on this world? LDM or Realist Hero? or a game base system? Like in WoW or something? hmmm", and it would be funny to read for first 1-2 chapters :D

The way Souma keeps going on wars and feels "forced" to go into war is a rather interesting imperialist thinking process. Also how they mention several times how it's a country where all these different varieties of non-humans and religions can co-exist. It feels vary much like Imperial Japan and how they wanted all Asians to to be grouped together in one massive (of course Japanese controlled) area. Though I guess there is no imperial west that Souma is saving anyone from.

It's still a fun novel but it's interesting to think about.

When it comes to realist hero. The Extra side stories from the full published versions are like an extra part I look forward too.

@SomeOldGuy Well, she could definitely do that to if she thought it necessary, but unless a guy were really pushy, I doubt that she would do that. And with her spending pretty much all of her time at the castle past a certain point, it's not like many guys would have had the opportunity to propose to her in person instead of by letter. Regardless, as nice as she typically is, she's clearly not the sort of woman you want to piss off.

There's also no guarantee that she wrote the symbols down correctly, so we have basically nothing to do go on at this point.

Also, IIRC, the demon lord's name was supposedly Devilroi, which isn't even really French. Roi would be king in French, but devil isn't a word in French. Devil in french would be diable. So, it's a mishmash of languages.

From what happened with the object that showed up in volume 6, whatever system was put in place pretty clearly understands multiple Earth languages and was prepared to handle multiple Earth languages. So, who knows if the monolith is even displaying a single language, and if it is, it could easily be its own thing even though the obvious assumption would be that it was kanji or similar just because then Souma would recognize it if he had the chance to actually read it.

They've dropped major hints that the planet where the story is taking place is somehow related to Earth (be it Earth itself, a colonized planet, an alternate version of Earth, or whatever), and language plays a factor into that, but we've been given so little to go on in general that we can't do much more than speculate.

Genia or another would HAVE to find a way to measure wattage, amperage and voltage. Souma should have at least this knowledge, of not how they differ. Hell I sure as hell don’t.

Alternatively/additionally Naden would need to learn how to regulate her own electrical discharge... she would essentially need to understand Those self same measures. Or run it through Genoa’s device.

This isn’t in another world with my smartphone tho... (thankfully?). Not that his phone would help that much...

@hopebestman I was teasing a bit with the comment about Souma, my bad on that being unclear. But we’re also talking about a situation where royal heirs with the rights to succession still remained. So even if the descendants of Secondary Queens were wandering around, they had no way to participate in the succession crisis. There is no line of succession through a Secondary Queen whatsoever, as far as we are told: “Conversely, while a woman of any class (even a slave or a prostitute) could become a secondary queen, their children had no right of succession. However, they were still royalty...” This is never indicated to have exceptions, with the likely in-universe explanation being that you don’t really want to legally declare more people who can kill you to take your job. Despite being royalty, they and their descendants can never take the throne by legal means. It would be treason to make the attempt and civil war is the most likely outcome. So even if Castor’s ancestors include the Hero King, if it was by way of a Secondary Queen, Castor wouldn’t have been in line for the throne even if he were human. I’d still expect it to have come up at some point from someone as proud as Castor started out, but since it isn’t relevant, I can’t rule it out even in light of the succession mess. (Whew, managed to bring it back on topic!)

Hmmm, I have ebook version 1 and 2 for realist hero 3 and I don't find in calibre in both any mention of Luu.

I get in Version 1.0 and 1.0.1 of volume 4 6 occurences for "Big Brother Luu" and "Big Sister Cia". So both are in it. And as I just downloaded the latest version 30 minutes I don't assume you have newer ones.
