Novel pick-up requests

Not sure if anyone has suggested these, or if we have any Danganronpa fans in here, but:
Danganronpa/Zero - 2 volumes
I suggested Zero earlier, because it's an essential story to the DR franchise we haven't gotten.
Some Muv-Luv novels would be cool too. Was Total Eclipse a novel series? That might be nice to see in English.
-
Zero is the one I'm hoping for most, though Kirigiri is a close second ๐
-
@paulnamida but if you think about it, Ernestie is basically an adult, it makes sense why he shows zero interest in the girls his age in his new life(not that he has shown any affection towards older women either)
-
@imilyaz imma stick with my theory that he's robophylic, like Clockwork Planet's MC, that guy is just way too true to his desires xD
-
Inou Battle (When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace) is ending at volume 13. I don't know publisher wise whether it's viable, but certainly size wise, that sounds doable for publication.
-
@paulnamida inb4 he's going to start showing affection to one of the girls later on if they grow up or do a time skip

Posted Bookwalker and Seven Seas license request link on a Tweet that Seven Seas retweeted. =D

Do you like Light Novels / Manga? Are there licenses you want to see translated into English?
Here's two places to request licenses!
Bookwalker:
(link: https://bookwalker.jp/ex/inquiry/request/) bookwalker.jp/ex/inquiry/reqโฆ
Seven Seas: (see picture with the hamster in middle of page).
(link: http://www.sevenseasentertainment.com) sevenseasentertainment.comHopefully a lot of people using those request spots after the retweets. :fingers_crossed_tone1:
I might add this forum page to a Tweet posted below it (I think the official J-Novel Club survey page that ran a bit ago is done, right?).
Anyone know of any other good official license request pages or even just community forum request hubs like this?
-
@terrence Thanks for the info, and before anyone does the bookwalker survey make sure you make an account because Im quite sure it dumps it after confirming if your not logged in.
-
now that both bluesteel of blasphemer and my sister live in fantasy world finished, what will be the replacement for it?
i hope jnovel would take noucome, inou battle, gamers as the new series
-
@white-cloud noucome and Gamers are Kadokawa properties, and Inou Battle is Softbank, so none of those can currently get licensed.
-
@rahul-balaggan Sad, but true. I think JNC has a ways to go before Kadokawa is going to let them license the LN that Yen Press doesn't want to. I'm confident they will get there someday, but it won't be this year. I'll add Eromanga-sensei to the list of Kadokawa properties I'd like to see JNC translate. I'll second the request for Gamers! too.
-
Now, this is not a specific request but I think with how JNC is like, picking up recent new Light Novels can play to JNC's strength. JNC is really fast with there translations so if they pick up new series then we can easily catch up with them quickly. I also think really long series can also work since let's say instead of waiting like 3 yrs for Re; Zero to catch up where the anime left off we just need to wait for 1.5 yrs. This can work because The new LN will be translated pretty quickly giving room for a steady translation for the longer series like Invaders of the Rokujouma!? I think JNC has quite a few series that are pretty new and caught up or almost caught up. Also, this can be a long-term investment since if JNC gets a lot of newer series then it becomes more likely that some of them will be really popular in the future. Then Companies like Yen On will need to take more and more risks and we get more LN out of this. Yen On gets the already known popular series but they have so many volumes out that it will take years to catch up. It seems like Yen On is getting lesser known series but they only seem to have around 6 volumes or so and are complete. The Long Stories I would want JNC to get are ones that have low chance of getting picked up by companies like Yen On (also series that Fans want to get) and for the Newer Series, I would like as much as possible
-
I think JNC is still building towards critical mass in terms of the number of titles (and publishers) that it has. I'm not sure sure what that number will be, but when it's reached, I think authors will be asking to let JNC publish thier novels.
-
Hello, just joined JNC after recently finding out about it, and I don't if it's possible, but I really want these novels to be picked up. If not, please explain.
- Konjiki no Moji Tsukai
- Chihou Kishi Hans no Junan
- Spirit Migration

Konjiki no Moji Tsukai is not happening. It's published by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko, which is an imprint of Fujimi Shobo, which is a Kadokawa company. If you want Kadokawa novels, you should go bug Yen Press for them.

Bookwalker is also (partly?) owned by Kadokawa, right? It's a good idea to bug them too.
Even if the license you want isn't viable, it's still a good idea to mention it in requests. Seven Seas said that they try to look for similar titles to the interests of their consumers in requests.
-
Yeah, Bookwalker is as well. So it's a possibility there, too.
I really want JNC to get big enough that Kadokawa lets them start taking properties Yen Press doesn't put out.
-
@dtta For some reason, I assumed Bookwalker only published manga. Incorrect?
-
@paul-nebeling Bookwalker has only published 2 LN titles, but they are exclusive to the BookWalker store, or at least temporarily. The first is The Combat Baker and Autamaton Waitress. The second is The Ryuoโs Work is Never Done!.

They're actually actively seeking light novel requests. From Twitter:
"We're considering picking up a new light novel to translate! So please send us your suggestions here (link on post)".
