What novels(if they're considered big) are ACTUALLY being licensed next?

@Ruby-Eye I think the basic premise of your question is wrong; J-novel.club has no way of for sure which series will be "big", so I asking what the "next big thing" is going to be is a flawed question, without an adequate answer. Sure there are things the team looks at to make an estimate of the 'bigness' of a series: the sales in Japan, the discussion on the forums, the length of the series, etc.; but whether that fully translates into how 'big' something becomes is up for debate. Since we can't really say whether something will become a "big thing " we can't really say what will be the "next big thing" since the "next big thing" assumes a certain level of 'bigness'. Therefore asking what will be the next big thing they will get is based upon a flawed premise and is impossible to answer fully.

@Lily-Garden One could base the guesstimate of what the next big thing is based on sales in Japan. The cynic in me says if the really a big thing, YP will probably snap up the English license.
Wouldn't be upset if JNC got a license for Eromanga Sensei, but since it's a Kadokawa property, I'm thinking that's unlikely.

I'm thinking they're asking what hot novels in Japan are currently being considered for licensing, but that question itself is flawed since no company is going to release their business plans until the contracts are formalized (and you can't call something actually licensed if they're still negotiating), so the general public isn't going to find out about the license until the official licensing announcement.

@Paul-Nebeling well JNC did manage to snap Kusuriya no Hitorigoto which is one of the hottest (non-Kadokawa) property.

Hey fellow club members! What novel isn't just one you like, or that is on your wish list, but is one that you think has a lot of buzz right now? Maybe it just got an anime or manga release, or a game adaptation, or won an award. Anyway, which buzz-worthy title do you think-wish-hope JNC will license next?I read banned books

@Jon-Mitchell I mean, if that were the question... I really want someone to license Mairimashita! Iruma-kun. I realize it's not a light novel series, but I can't help it — I want both it and Akagi to have an official release stateside.

@TheGrimLich the Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun anime is surprisingly fun and silly. It seems a bit shallow to me though, so unless the novels are deeper (like FUNA's Abilities Average LN vs. the anime) I probably wouldn't read it.

Ah, I'm not much of a manga person so definitely not my cup of tea. But for those who do want it I hope someone licenses it.

Hmm, I liked the Iruma-kun anime, but I could never really get into the manga. The style just doesn't mesh well with what I like I guess.
I already mentioned which two LN I'm hoping to get licensed this year by JNC in the other topic that's going, but I'm kinda hoping that the same 2 titles (Isekai Yururi Kikou and Rebuild World) get anime announcements this year, though I guess I have to say I'm not sure I'm too hopeful on it, isekai slice of life series have never really been popular choices for adapting, and it seems like the only sci-fi type series being made now involve teenage girls needing to save the world in battle costumes.
