What's The Two Light Novel Series You'd Like to See Licensed in 2021?
-
My two for 2021 would have to be... oh this is tough. If I thought either had a chance, I'd probably campaign for these two through all the various channels:
Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai / Unbreakable Machine-doll
and

4 Novels I want to see getting licensed by J-Novel Club in 2021 aren't enough, so here are another two:
1). The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen Who Will Become the Source of Tragedy Will Devote Herself for the Sake of the People
I'm following the fan translation of the web novel and I absolutely love it! It's quite dark and dramatic in opposite to the usual villainess novels, but that's what I really like about it. The third volume got recently released in Japan.
2). The Reincarnated Princess Strikes Down Flags Today as Well
Another villainess novel I'm reading the fan translation of. The sixth volume got released last october in Japan.

@Liber-Monstrorum these sound great. I love villainess light novels.
-
@Lily-Garden Both are especially good to read, it just doesn‘t get boring, no matter how much you read.^^ I really hope J-Novel Club will license them (soon)!
-
And the last two novel I would love to see getting licensed by J-Novel Club in 2021:
1).A bellicose lady got reincarnated!? ~It's an impossibly hard game where I would die if I don't fall in love
A novel I noticed first, because of the beautiful art style. The story is really interesting. For once the main character doesn't get reincarnated as the villainess of an otome game but the heroine, much to her annoyance. To survive she must fall in love, but unfortunately she doesn't have an ounce of interest in romance and is more of a meat-head, than the super calculating and intelligent type. It would be a change in the usual villainess trope, so I would love to read it!
2). On the 6th Playthrough of the Otome Game, the Auto-Mode Broke
Again another villainess novel. The main character gets reincarnated into an otome game as the villainess, but doesn't have control over her body at first and need to relive her demise again and again, until the automatic mode breaks and after the 6th time she awakes in the body of a baby. Now she has the chance to finally turn her fate around for the better. It reminds me a bit of Bakarina (though the MC isn't that stupid), fans of this novel would surely like it. I definitely would love to read it!

If you could pick one light novel series to be licensed in 2021, which one would it be. I though of limiting it to one, but I figured that might be a bit hard so I decided to open it up to two titles. Here are the 2 titles I'd live to see get licensed in 2021.
Lv2 kara Cheat datta Moto Yuusha Kouho no Mattari Isekai Life "The Laid-back Life in Another World of the Ex-Hero Candidate Who Turned out to be a Cheat from Level 2"
I've been following the stories on both of these for some time via the manga and have thoroughly enjoyed them. They are both slice of life isekai stories that I just happened to stumble across, but enjoy all the same.
I would also pick Lv2 kara Cheat datta Moto Yuusha Kouho no Mattari Isekai Life as one of my 2 pics to get picked up. Please note that the manga for this was just recently picked up by Seven Seas (not really sure that is a great thing due to their tendency to "rewrite" the items they pick up).
The other one would be:
Shinigami ni Sodaterareta Shoujo wa Shikkoku no Tsurugi wo Mune ni Idaku "The Little Girl Raised by Death Holds the Sword of Death Tightly"
This one isn't an Isekai, but it's a fun story about a naive young girl who was trained by a God of Death and is literally a monster on the battlefield -

I saw that they licensed the manga, which hopefully means that they will be licensing the light novel as well. I would of course love for JNC to do that, but it is what it is.As far as what's been going on with Seven Seas, I hope that they get their stuff together and start acting right. I've read enough of the web novel, light novel and manga to know if their pulling any funny business and will promptly call them out if they do. Hopefully this last incident will prompt them to get their act together.

Like everyone else I have trouble deciding, but right now I would go for:
- Maou Gakuin No Futekigousha (Misfit of Demon King Academy)
- Kenja no Mago (Magi's Grandson)
I have read some fan translations of both and really enjoy the characters in both. The anime for both only made me want more of the story...

as @Village-Idiot said, it's a bit of both. On the one hand, she's kind of an airhead with no real social skills: think Shin Wolford from Kenja no Mago, but worse as she's completely clueless about it. On the other hand, she can single-handedly turn the tide of a major battle, and the author is not shy about the brutality she delivers to her enemies. Add to the fact that she's literally drop-dead gorgeous, and it makes for some really interesting reading.

Problem Children are Coming from Another World, aren't they?/ Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sō Desu yo?
and
Knights and Magic
2 series that I love but had their fan translations halt early
-
@lylac didn't Mondaiji have a full fan translation??

Hitsugi no Chaika (Coffin Princess Chaika)
Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian (The Mystic Archives of Dantalian)Few English fans of the former know about LN Volume 12, because the anime didn't have it available to adapt at the time.
The latter is my personal wish, because its anime presented an intriguing alternate world to imagine. -
I‘m (desperately) hoping for Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and Fake Cinderella getting licensed this year.
I think for getting Sugar Apple Fairy Tale we might even have a real chance, since we already got Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower, which is by the same author and publisher. -
@lighthawk96 I know I'm a little late here, but I just noticed that JNovel has licensed the LN for Lv2 kara Cheat datta Moto Yuusha Kouho no Mattari Isekai Life - pretty cool
-
@lylac would love to see both - two of my favorite anime series
-
@elkensteyin
Yes! Very cool!
