My next life as a villainess: All routes lead to doom missing content
-
So I was rereading volumes 1 & 2 and notice there are a lot of missing content in this books (Side Stories), guess I want to know why it was cut out in the first place?
-
Are you talking compared to the web novel or are you talking ebook editions from, say, Amazon/Kobo/Bookwalker vs. Premium Ebook?
-
@darktwilight Were they store exclusive side stories in Japan? I didn’t know Ichijinsha did that. Or perhaps if they do, JNC wasn’t able to license them. Or maybe Special Edition volumes? Those are basically never licensed by western publishers, especially if they have drama CDs.
What I’m mainly wanting is some proof. Where did you see there were supposed to be more stories? -
Huh, I didn’t know there was a web version novel of the series, actually I found it online by another translation group called omega harem translations and there are up to 9 side’s stories, I’m not sure if it’s okay to add a link to the website otherwise I just randomly google searched for it.
-
Hello,
To start linking to fan translations on this site is not allowed.
Other then that, J-Novel Club translates the content found in the Japanese books as they are.
So if you have any evidence that the official Japanese book has content not found in English release please let us know.
Saying that is something done by a fan translator does not mean it was in the official Japanese release.
Thank you

Good to know, so now I’m wondering since I bought my version on iBook (through apple) does that mean there are extra chapters through premium ebook (j-novel)?
-
@darktwilight You can check what premium content books have in this thread (link). It looks like My Next Life as a Villainess doesn't have any extra stories in the premium books.
But it's true that other series could have bonus stories in the premium edition that aren't in the ibooks edition, so you might want to check that thread if looking at other jnovel books to buy.

~~@darktwilight ~~
Some series have bonus stories available in Japan that have been licensed and translated by J-Novel Club and are exclusive to the premium editions.Bakarina does not have any stories available in the premium edition.A full list of what series has what bonus can be found here: https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/305/premium-e-book-bonus-contents-list?page=1What @hatguy12 said

From what I can tell, all those bonus stories being referenced are from the author's syosetu WN account, so it's quite possible that these do not exist in any of the published LN volumes at this point in time.
Based on the dates on syosetu, these bonus stories started going up only a few months prior to the LN's first volume going on sale in Japan with the most recent one having been put up a few months after Vol 9 was officially released in Japan.

Cool, thanks for answering all my questions. Though now I’m just a bit sad in the web version it just has very small chapters that explains what happens to a few minor chapters as well as what happened to Katarina snakes afterwards.
-
@darktwilight
There's always a chance the author will publish a book with all these side stories at some point. It happened for other series.Turns out the book's already out. I completely forgot about it. See the post below. 😅
-
@darktwilight Fairly certain the story of What Happened To The Snakes is in Volume 5, which is a collection of short stories.
-
@thegrimlich holy heck you are right, totally missed all the short stories in that one chapter in volume 5. THANKS now I’m glad there isn’t nothing that’s missing in the translations! 😆
-
@darktwilight So everyone knows, there are in fact bonus stories that were included as store bonuses with My Next Life as a Villainess in Japan, but we have not had any luck licensing them. As such, we are unable to translate and include them in our ebooks.
Second, it's possible that not all short stories that were released with the web novel will be officially published, meaning those we would have no chance of being able to include.
