Let's talk about Light Novel Harems

If someone posts dangerous spoilers from scanlations and fanslation info, is there a way to block that user's posts from appearing in my web view on JNC forums?
Not that I'm accusing any of you guys of ruining anything for me (though the Death March comment has me thinking about relationship stuff there, and I haven't even touched the series...), it's something from a previous thread I'm thinking about, and some other dangerous posts elsewhere.
I do think, sometimes it is best to just block everything behind a tag, with just the volume number you're spoiling up to outside of it. Sometimes the set up for the spoiler is enough to guess at the meaning.

@paul-nebeling I think if Hajime in Arifureta sticks to his guns with Yue then it should be a good series.
-
Has anyone ever felt that they made a difference no matter how small? like making a comment that may have changed the direction of a conversation. I feel like I have in this discussion with my 3 types of Harems comment. well going with Manipulating ppl I finished Vol 6 of Overlord
now I wonder about the differences between LN harems, Shounen Harems, Shojo Harems (also known as Reverse Harems), Seinen Harems, and Josei Harems. There is also the main appeal of the series as well, for example, D-Frag is a comedy series so the Harem is much different than in Monogatari. D-Frag Harem is even different than Aho-Girl that is also a Comedy.

@smashman42 I can read Chinese translations, and for certain series they are faster than English translations. Konosuba is one of the faster ones.
For certain other series though they're slower. For example I started reading Dendro in Chinese, but after I finished the first two volumes I switched over to J-Novel Club's English translations for vol 3 to 5, because the Chinese translations are still only part way through Vol 4 last I checked.

Is new life+ a harem??

According to NovelUpdates and lndb.info, yes. But we're still on the first volume so it will take a while for it to be an harem yet.

I'm actually pretty annoyed with Arifueta's harem. I just started reading it since it's available to members for catch up this month, and this is exactly the problem I was talking about.
Every single volume it's just one new harem girl gets introduced. It's ridiculous. I was on board after in the first volume, I liked Hajime and Yue. Then Shea shows up in vol 2 and I was a little skeptical, even though I like her as a character I don't think she should join the "harem" since Hajime's clearly not interested. The fact that the author was writing Yue as allowing it really bothered me.
Then we got Tio in vol 3 and I'm just like "this is ridiculous". That's as far as I've read so far but don't think I didn't notice that there's a different girl on every volume cover of Arifueta. I'm getting really tired if every single of one of them joins the harem.

This will sound weird (and maybe even offensive)
I don’t actually pay attention to Harem as a genre.
One of my top 3 genres is Shoujo and I pay attention to the love elements within the story, but for other stories that aren’t romance but are Harem I pay attention to all the other elements.
Like Arifureta it’s an adventure Harem, and I only pay attention to the adventure aspects, in fact I don’t really care for all Harem aspects, like my least favorite character is Kouki cause he is a sack of loving garbage but my second least favorite character is Myu I felt she was useless and added nothing to the story.
And Realist Hero which is my favorite JNC title, all I care about is the economic, and civilization elements, I care about world building.
Last example New Life+ Right now the Harem elements have not started yet but I can safely say all I care about is Reyna growing stronger and the food, I actually have 0 interest in his eventual Harem or even him fighting, all I care about his “level” going up and the food, mostly the food.

@chi-c I am halfway through book 1 of Arifureta and I heard that Hajime is not clueless (he know other ppl have feelings for him) but he does not return the romantic feeling and rejects them. Hajime is very faithful I hear and sticks with Yue (AKA he is very Monogamous not Polygamous). I do not see anything wrong with multiple girls falling for the same guy. Monogatari is a "1-sided Harem" yet Araragi remains faithful and sticks with Senjougahara because he really does love her. Subaru Rejects Rem because he loves Emilia. I personally think it is wrong to not read a series because of a tag or trope it has, I try not to blind myself with tropes and cliches but see how they are executed. any trope or cliche can be done masterfully, horrendously, and differently, it only matters how it is executed.
-
@drone205 yeah but Araragi loves Hachikuji.
AS. HE. SHOULD.

@drone205 no one can arrest someone for having feelings for a ghost
-
@rahul-balaggan It's not his fault 2 of the 3 best heroines are legal lolis.
-
@aruseus493 That is what they all say sir, now come with us sir. You are going to a very special place sir. Resistance is futile.
-
@drone205 You can't take me, this isn't one of those backwards countries that give rights to fictional characters! This isn't Canada, Australia, or Reddit!
-
@aruseus493 I can Catch you, I use Lure
-
If you want to catch me, you gotta use better bait. (NSFW)
-
@aruseus493 Sir, as an upstanding Member of #DontLewdTheLolis I can not show any show you "Better Bait." It would be very hypocritical for me to show you lewd pics of one best girl. I can not even tell you that many ppl like you who have gone to this special place may have secret pics that I have failed to detect and they may be nice enough to show you.
-
@chi-c I felt exactly the same as you did when I began reading Arifureta. But once Kaori comes back into the picture, I think I got a better sense of what the author had in mind.
You see, the author's making a harem not for the romance, but more for the comedic interaction between the girls. Shea and Tio being there adds up as the story goes on. Them being OP like Hajime and making all other guys envious of him is just a plus, I guess.
Anyway, the best harem I can think of is the one in Mushoku Tensei. Maybe because there's actual marriage involved.

@shrike_al wb Realist Hero? I think it’s working well so far wouldn’t say the best but kinda unique I’d say. For Arifureta I personally didn’t like that the teacher got involved. But I guess I could see it as comedic.
