Please fix my account
-
It seems my credit card expired which the bank only replaced and activated just now, please restore my membership~
-
Seeing how you still have "Member" status on forum you might still have an active subscription? Sam said there might be a bit of a grace period whenever billing fails, then you probably just need to update payment info on "Membership Status" tab in profile and wait for it to bill you again.
If subscription actually got cancelled then just get a new one, I guess? It's not like you get any perks for continued usage.
If you still think you need some help from JNC side then it might be better to write to support@ e-mail rather than trying to figure out problems of one particular account using public forum. -
OK, that's an idea, but How to remove my first account? I'm gonna be double-charged you know, I already input my new cred card details. They should just fix my account.
edit: ok. I'm applying again, seems fastest way. but I hope they dont double charge me!
edit: cancelled it, as J-Novel already deducted my annual fee from first subs.... BUT I'M STILL NOT CONSIDERED A MEMBER!!!!

If you're having problems with billing (paid but your membership on the main site doesn't work), then you should send an email to support (at) j-novel.club
Member and Premium Member status on the forum is a little buggy in that it doesn't update directly at times (your forum label/group may not change when you gain or lose membership on the main site). You can probably also email support for that, but it's probably less important to you than making sure your properly a member on the main site.

@hatguy12 Thanks, I missed their support email there.
edit: Now this sucks: Their records shows no payment was made. But my credit card was clearly deducted the annual fee already. And I'm still asked to join... this really sucks.

After seven days, Stripe (J-Novel Club's financial service) claimed they received no annual fee. My bank, claimed they already released the fee. One of these fucking entities took my hard earned money and took off like a bandit. I'm depressed, big time.
-
@yoshimin Credit card or debit card?
-
@paul-nebeling Debit card. Honestly I'm just as annoyed, stripe says the payment was declined, but @yoshimin clearly got charged according to his bank.
All I can do is suggest he file a fraudulent charge with his bank so make them double check. Probably some middleman bank is holding the money. -
@sam-pinansky The rules against fraudulent charges are slightly better (in this country, at least) for credit cards. Debit cards have immediate access to the funds in your account, so that's why I prefer credit over debit. There should be an electronic audit trail. I agree that some middleman is holding the funds.

I got my money back, thankfully. I don't think it's from the paperworks that I finished for the bank, but maybe the holding period lifted (the bank's phone banker isn't giving me clear info when they'll return the money if they have it, all that I have talked to, they are all idiots. For several days, I spend 1 hour listening to a prerecorded answering machine, then spend the rest of the time arguing with them idiots, stressful I'd say)
The problem initially lies with stripe~ GUYS If your card expired and received emails from j-novel, DO NOT JUST INPUT YOUR NEW # like I did. Create a new account, because there's a high chance of getting charged without getting acknowledged. It's a BUG with their system. (I made a new account myself~)

Ok. I successfully registered last month, but now my account is NOT ABLE TO READ ANYTHING. My payment was annual so you can't ask me for another payment until next year, damn it, so this is frustrating. PLEASE FIX MY ACCOUNT AGAIN.

@yoshimin The charge dispute was applied to your subscription and the bank took back your subscription fee. I had no choice but to immediately cancel your sub.
You did eventually get your money back from the first time you tried to sub, but then the charge dispute went through and applied to the second charge that actually worked as intended. In the end you got all of your money back while meanwhile we're left with chargeback fees. And I gave you 4 credits to apologize for the trouble (despite it being 100% on your own bank's end).
