Delays for October 2021 and November 2021 Print Titles
-
Due to all the port congestion, backups, and issues at shipping locations such as Long Beach and Los Angeles, our book shipments will be delayed for both October and November.
The new street date for October books is now October 23.
The new street date for November is now December 7.To be clear, the books are printed and are on the boat, the boat just needs to actually dock. Once it does, they can be unloaded and sent off. It's still possible to get your books early or on time, depending on regular shipping, as soon as the boat can dock.

@hirei Sad to hear that, but that's life.
After reading this, I wanted to look up the print release schedule, but didn't find anything like that. Is there a forum post with all monthly print releases? Looking them up on the homepage under calendar isn't possible due to only showing digital releases. Under the Series area one could filter for series with print release but would have to go on each page to look up the release dates for each volume.
The only thing I found in the forum was this quite old suggestion: https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/2614/print-release-area . Seems like the feature didn't make it.

Rough dates are listed on the series pages of each series with print editions, but that is the only thing. There is no central calendar for print release dates.

@qeeh
yea, it seems that there isn't a centralized print release schedule- and I can understand why- JNC doesn't sell the hard copies directly
- the final steps in printing/distribution may be done 'out of house' (we know printing is done overseas)
so if they want to "under-promise but over-deliver" they have to chose which promises to make- and it would be unwise to promise something that is fundamentally out of your control (like ships!!)

@qeeh Due to our website architecture, it's very difficult to add new features that don't use that existing structure. (Hint: This architecture was built in 2016, before Sam even started thinking about print, so you can imagine why print features on the website are kind of scarce...)
Plans to update our architecture are in the works but will take months to complete and migrate, so after that it will be much more feasible to add a feature like what you're describing.

I can totally relate to that. I'm programming myself (thou, in my case, hospital information systems). Making a generic structure can be both a blessing and a curse at the same time.
