Mixed Bathing Vol. 7

I was just checking out the web site where Nagaharu Hibihana posts "Mixed Bathing" and see via the gobbledygook generator (AKA Google Translate) that the part posted on 03 Jan is the very final part. In other words the author has brought the series to a conclusion with the seventh volume. Now how long it will be before it it actually published in Japan I have no idea, but I would not be surprised if it was sometime in the second half of the year. I will be watching Over-Lap's blog to see when they schedule it.

As for why I think it will be July or later, there are a number of things that have to happen. First the author has to put it in manuscript form to send it to the publisher. Then the publisher has to arrange for cover and internal illustrations. The publisher may also want some text changes. All of that will affect when it gets inserted into the publication schedule. (There may be other things as well. I have no experience in the commercial publiahing world, but I do have experience pulling together project reports and technical reports to submit to a customer as part of a contract.)

There is also a comment about the author's new series with a link to it. According to the gobbledygook generator the new series has the title "Kazoku Gakuen's Wind Knight Committee Shooting stars are cut in the shadows"; I expect that the actual title is something more comprehensible. I'm also curious how long it will take for Overlap to publish the final volume.

My search skills for Japanese LN news are nonexistent, are there any updates by the author or Overlap on a volume 7 release?

Poor Cosmos has been waiting to be rescued for a couple of years now :)

Although the report here was delayed , the "Different World Mixed Bathing Story" was successfully completed on January 3, 2021 . This is also thanks to everyone who supported us. I'm really thankful to you! Please wait a little longer for the final 7 volumes of the book version. If there is any progress, we will let you know here and on Twitter.

He hasn't made any post about it after that so I guess we have to wait a little longer still. 🙄

@doublemangekyo @Terabyte That's for the JP release, correct? How much longer until there's an English release. And (I know you can't talk a lot about licenses directly but) can you at least confirm that v7 was included or if J-Novel will have to negotiate for v7 when it's available?

I couldn't say. But you can look at the dates on the series page and compare them to the JP dates above to make a guess.

So, just in case you're misunderstanding something, I myself am not employed by JNC and cannot speak for them. I'm just a fan like you.
To answer your question though, the license for vol.7 will have to be negotiated (with little effort I'm assuming), since it's a brand new book that didn't exist until now. And that will only happen AFTER the book gets published in Japan later this month.
