Synopsis: A man was about to commit suicide and decides to search for a way to die in the internet, but then he found an odd site that asked a lot of questions and had a point based system that allows you to create skills and abilities for a character. He took interest in it and when he finished setting his character he was asked: "You will now be transported to a world with the settings you choose, coming back is not possible, do you still accept?" Without thinking much of it he pressed YES and found himself in another world with the skills and abilities he chose to have.Okay, so if Mushoku Tensei was the progenitor of the concept of reincarnation isekai, this is the progenitor of the concept of video game mechanics and the like. Basic premise - the main character wants to off himself, but lands in a world of swords and sorcery. It's a typical isekai story. The LN is licensed by the same company who does Apothecary Diaries and the manga by Kadokawa, so it's not an impossible acquisition. Hell, the LN illustrations are done by the artist who did Full Metal Panic.
The caveat? Its other name is A Slave Harem in Another World. The novel is a basic format where the main character wants to buy a slave girl, goes down dungeons to raise money to purchase her, has sex with her, she becomes his party member, rinse and repeat. And because the author loves their video game mechanics, the minutiae of the world - skills, attack power, etc - are explained in excruciating detail. Hell, one chapter of the WN is just the MC going "damn I would like to have a fluffy futon" and collecting item drops from bird monsters, feather by feather, in order to construct it. And the manga is even slower-paced, reserving sometimes entire chapters for sex scenes.
So yeah, main reason I'm posting this is that an anime is confirmed, so you're bound to get anime-only fans who want to read the original. But if you decide not to pick up this one, I don't blame you.
