Hikawa-sensei wa Otaku Kareshi ga Hoshii.
(English translation: Hikawa-sensei Wants an Otaku Boyfriend)Publisher: Kadokawa
Author: Yu Shinomiya
Illustrator: Nishizawa 5mm
Volumes: 3Synopsis: (Translated from Bookwalker)
“If only I have a sweet, otaku girlfriend.” I, Otaku Kirishima Takuya, dreamed of an ephemeral dream during spring break — and met her, my ideal girlfriend. “I-I was hoping we could chat some more…” The cute otaku girl, Hikawa Mashiro! Our tastes and likings matched each other’s perfectly and so, we got together. Tasting her homemade food, going out on otaku dates, it was as if the time of my life has arrived… until the new school term. “I am going to be your homeroom teacher from this… Eh?” “…Huh?” Her true identity was that of the demonic teacher, “Ice Witch” Ms. Hikawa!? Wai-, eh… a student and a teacher dating is totally against the law, isn’t it! This is the hidden story of the taboo love between Ms. Hikawa and me.Why:
I was at first drawn to the art. Nishizawa's art style caught my eye and then I looked a little further into and I noticed how relatable the story can possibly be. Many people want to share their interests with others but are afraid that they might be made fun of because of them. I want to be able to experience such a story. In addition, I want an English release to possibly reinvigorate the author's interest in writing it. The story has been unfortunately been stuck in a hiatus for nearly two years and I want to be able to see it continue.

Is this a fusion between Perfect Otaku Girlfriend and Boku no kanojo sensei? Seems interesting, too bad it's on hiatus...
-
@Lex Something like that, yeah. There aren't even any English TLs out there, so asking for an official release is the best chance this has to revitalize the series.
-
@Masterofhamsters If it has been on hiatus that long and the author does not have a known medical issue, then it was probably buried by the publisher.
-
@jampodevral That's kind of the thing. I can't seem to find anything about the author since they don't have any sort of online presence outside of the official Twitter account for the LN itself, so we don't know if there's a medical issue or not. In addition, I gleaned through the illustrations, and I feel like the story ends in the third volume? I'm not too sure if it's actually on hiatus or not, but I guess they never officially announced that it was over either.

I thought I recognized the artwork.
Gotta love MAL, they actually list '5㍉' as the artist's given name...
-
@Weasalopes From what I understand, isn't "5mm" part of their penname? It seems to be the case on other websites as well.
-
@Masterofhamsters
That was precisely my point. grin
MAL is an interesting mix of great knowledge and abysmal ignorance.
