I know I've mentioned FMPF before, just dropping by to remind you if FMP main series does well enough to warrant physical volumes, then Fumoffu and the other series written by Gatoh would do just fine

If I remember right, Sam said he would consider the other FMP series if the current one sold well. Since we haven't heard anything yet I guess it didn't sell that well... 🙄

They’re not even printing Black Summoner or Great Cleric, both of which sell amazingly even after 9+ volumes, and the former with an upcoming anime. They’re being very conservative with what they’re printing right now due to paper/printing scheduling and distribution problems.

If I remember correctly - the printing is done in Korea, shipping anything across the Pacific is problematic at present-plus the cost of paper(in Asia) is skyrocketing. One of the main sources of lumber/wood pulp in Asia is Russia/Ukraine which is currently also problematic. So, unless I am mis-remembering, I wouldn't expect new hard copy commitments from J-Novel Club soon due to the above (the profit margin would be exceedingly small). Now, the boutique hard copies / leather bound omnibus stuff - I have no idea where those are printed or if subject to the same issues - but inflation is a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if new special editions were significantly more expensive to produce vs. two or three years ago (which may contribute to delay in publishing and 'wait and see' business decisions)

            I read banned books

@Terabyte funny thing is, during a discord roundtable from them, I asked them if FMP sells well enough to continue hard copies and they basically said something along the lines of "lol FMP has excellent sales, don't worry we're definitely continuing the hard copies"

@Jon-Mitchell I mean if that's the only thing holding them back, I don't mind hearing them say they'd do FMPF and ABP physical copies when supply chains start to get better. I'd even pay inflated prices for them, a lot of us where I am are receiving wage increases so we gotta expect a sliding bar at some point

I don't know if this would be the case with JNC, but the cost of getting books printed overseas and shipped to the US has gotten to where some of the folks producing bound volumes of their web comics are shifting back to utilizing US-based printers. Lower costs, and more responsive to their communications.
Not that internal shipping costs these days are anything to write home about... but the economics that made a lot of printing move overseas has reversed itself, it seems.

Here is hoping with the last hardcover being brought forward 6 months, the reprint of the first two hardcovers, completion of the main story and new LN announcements coming that we might get Fumoff announced at some stage.
