Konosuba vol 17
-
This is the last of the series and the end was pretty disappointing. Let's just say that everyone BUT Kazuma has matured and grown up, at least a little, but him? He's the same immature slacker jackass he started out as. I can see him getting someone pregnant and running for the hills to avoid taking responsibility, all the while blaming society for his actions. Not an easy character to like.

In a way, I preferred the web novel ending. Was a little bit more clear cut in my opinion.
Apparently the author wrote a short story as an epilogue since some wanted a little bit more clarity. At least it was an end, a reasonable end. I have read worse and let us be honest. Did we really expect Kazuma to mature?
Throughout the series he was only barely better than he was pre-reincarnation. -
@Folker46 The way I read it, was that he acted like a hero in the end.
Then after the boss fight, he got a choice: go back to Japan and live the easy life, or to go back to the fantasy world.
Guess what he chose... -
@RobD I guess I've been poisoned by Unemployed Reincarnate, though I don't like Rudy for the most part, he is trying to be a good dad. I guess I wanted Konosuba to show that Kazuma would try too but I just get the impression he wouldn't, he's just too immature and selfish and only becomes the hero when he absolutely has too.

I'm rather annoyed it didn't include the three stories. Especially the closure one.
