October 2022 Livestream!
-
We'll be announcing new series licenses on Wednesday, October 12th, at 7 PM Pacific/10 PM Eastern/2 AM UTC (October 13) on our Twitch channel, so tune in if you're available! If you can't make it, you'll be able to watch the VOD for at least a couple days afterward, and recaps will be on our Twitter and here in this topic as well!
For your entertainment, a reaction from Discord:
- User: Wow, another set of releases so soon? Feels like we just had some.
- @Sam-Pinansky: we licensed too much to announce all at ANYC, so we have to lighten the load. My apologies.

I suppose the begs the question of how much can actually be announced at ANYC...
Not that I expect to actually get an answer.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch live, so see you after the stream is over!

Too many to announce at ANYC. I just hope for some that I have supported in the suggestions. Bu, I’ve enjoyed many that I never knew about before, so… can’t wait!

How much is too much? I can see perhaps too many to get all of their first parts translated and edited, but not so much for just announcing (but J-Novel likes to do both at once :) .
I anxiously await 12 October, then, although I read too many titles here already (including more than a few that I’m only actually mildly interested in and really should drop).
-
The imagine in the OP does not seem to work. Maybe Twitter has some anti-hotlinking thing going on?
-
*looks up ANYC dates* Holy moley, three months of announcements in a row.
-
@TheGrimLich Was just thinking that. JNC seems to be accelerating their announcements like crazy.

COVID is over comparatively to the last two years.

Too many to fit into a presentation with a fixed time limit and still go over other news/topics?
-
@myskaros This is totally an aside, but did you adjust your pfp? Irys' sunglasses seem offkilter now and I'd swear they used to be on straight.
-
@Windsagio Nope, always been this picture.
-
@myskaros haha thanks :D
-
@Windsagio Unfortunately their printing has not matched the speed. We haven't had a batch of printing announcements since November last year...
-
When I first subscribed to JNC I wasn't sure I was going to find many titles to read. Now I'm here hoping they won't announce too many new series because I'm quickly reaching the limit of how many volumes I can read each month. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the announcement, in the worst case I'll just have to find a way to cut my sleeping hours.

Which is great since some series are ending (Lazy Dungeon Master) while some other new announcements from earlier this year only had 2 volumes (gag character, oversummoned).
JNC keeps finding things I want to read, though not every new license is my cup of tea.

That's only a problem if you keep using those slides that have the title, cover and description of the novel. You could always just shellshock the audience and have a slide that just has like 20 titles and nothing else on it like when companies put up slides of their customers and it's just a wall of logos.
Anyway, pretty excited for this, didn't really have much in the last batch I was really into, so hoping to see a reversal here. Though I am running into the problem of too much to read now... I only keep up with my top novels and read most of the rest of the stuff on the weekend when I have a bit more time.
-
@jpwong That would be so completely ineffective though.
The purpose of announcements isn't to get people excited about things that people want to see announced (they will get excited about that regardless how big a deal of it we make), but rather to get people interested in things that they didn't specifically want us to announce or realize exist. If we just spammed a big list of titles, people would scan it for ones they know, and completely ignore the rest, defeating the purpose. Which is why we will always do them one by one unless it's a special case like a bunch of rescues or something.

-
@admin lol it was a joke, of course just bombing people with dozens of titles on one slide is going to be massively counterproductive unless you're just showing off all the titles you've already previously announced.
You just need to find someone who can talk like the person who did the old micro machines commercials, then you can wiz through the slides at whatever speed you want.
But how long are your convention panel time slots normally?

Easy solution. J-Novel.club Con.
Then you can get all the time and slides you need.
