Why are some series divided into parts?

I looking at Accendance Bookworm and rebuild world. Is this done to decrease book size or is the japanese version like that?

@JRPG-Nation I think the authors are writing more in depth stories. most LNs have a self contained arc in each volumeand they may have had to split the arcs into parts to keep it running proper
