So is there any hope of a vol 3 of the light novel? At this point im fealing like i wasted my money buying into a dead series.

@Apairon v2 came out in 2020 in Japan, Unsure how much more material the WN has, but it's basically dead yeah. Now if you enjoyed what you read I wouldn't really call it a waste, but I also personally chose not to pick it up since it was dead when it got announced, so I also can't blame you.

@GeorgeMTO then why would J novel pick it up of they knew it was dead? Kinda lame to do that to the fans if you ask me. Most of us do not do a deep look into a series history. We just asume that the series is being activly released if a company is licensing it.

There is really good stuff that is out there that has been canceled glances at Deathbound Duke’s Daughter it would be a shame, no a crime, to deprive us of the chance to read it just because it got canned

@Apairon there are multiple reasons to do so, although in this specific case there was comments about wanting the ongoing manga, and grabbing the LN at the same time as it would definitely never be licensed if it didn't get picked up then after the manga already went. As Lily Garden says, some series are totally worth reading despite their lack of conclusion [even if they were ongoing when licensed and later stalled out, like The Faraway Paladin in my personal preference]
Unfortunately I wouldn't really expect publishers to tell us when a series is axed, if you really dislike it, I have to recommend looking into a series publication status in Japan before purchasing.

@Apairon yes, but I have no idea if it's still adapting content from the LN, or gone ahead (v4 came out earlier this year, and I don't actually follow this series to have any idea of the chapter releases).

Yes, I'm glad I got to read a good translation of 1-2 even though I'm sad we'll probably never get a volume 3.
The same for this, and other series cut short like Me, a Genius?, Seriously Seeking Sister, The Sidekick Never Gets The Girl
