Website not responding/App not responding
-
Help, i cant use the website any more, it just wont load for me, i have tried different browsers and even the app but i always get not responding and now when i tried to log out on the main browser microsoft edge and tried to relog to see if that could fix it.. i got the message SSO authorizaziton failed instead of not responding.
I think this whole issue might be related to me hitting next on a novel i was reading to a page i had not bought yet and it glitched the whole account out some how when at the same time my internet died on me. I am clueless to what to do here.
My last resort is to clear my browser but i would like some feedback first and to see if anyone else got the same issue first.
Update, managed to login on my phone finally but no browser login works for me.
Update2, downloaded another browser Opera GX and same issue as my main browser and second browser chrome. It feels like the site thinks i am logged on and not logged on at the same time, this is very strange.

@Zatio please send an email to support@j-novel.club and we will look into your account as soon as we can.
-
@admin Alright i sent a message from my email to support.

I have the same issue except I don't think it's the account. The pages just won't load for me. The only one that doesn't freeze up is the first page (homepage).
-
same her ohnly Pc

@Evisic Yeah the main page works for the most part tho any other link does not work at all, i think its a account issue with the site thinking that i am logged out and logged in at the same time but could be anything really. I sign in with google but if i go the the login link it says i am not logged in and need to sign in tho on the account link it says i am logged on. I hope they figure out what is wrong but until they do the app seem to work fine on the phone at least.
-
@Zatio well I can log in and out and klick on the different links but I need to close the browser and open it again for the pages to (maybe) load. Otherwise it just acts frozen.

Something is definitely broken on the website. Forums and contact page work, front page works. Trying to look at series? Frozen.
In addition, it looks more like browser is trying to load a bunch of things somewhere but it isn't progressing. I've checked network connection and ping goes through quickly and network speedtest is ok.
The question then comes if server has bandwidth throttled somehow? Or is there a bug that means it is trying to load tons of things somewhere now? (Script gone bad?)Multiple browsers have that same problem while one just gives application error right away.
It isn't even about if you are logged in or not, it used to work that you could get a list of series without getting logged in (it is when you are trying to read them that you need to be logged in). So something has changed in the server side.

@kazereal Browser starts taking a lot CPU time for some reason and looking at console there's some type errors and stripe.js is not found for some reason.
Other than that can't say since I'm not familiar with Javascript frameworks enough. -
I can't get the website to work either. Clicking on User or any other link just freezes the whole site

We are unable to reproduce this issue and suspect it could be an application installed on your device that is interfering with our website's code. We've had such a case before with NordVPN altering requests.
Please check if there are any applications running that could mess with web content, disable them and see if that helps. The usual suspects are firewalls, anti-virus software and VPN software.
To further investigate this issue, we would need HAR files from you. These files are logs of your network requests. Here are the steps to produce such a file in Chrome:
- Navigate to https://j-novel.club.
- Open the network monitor (F12, then click on the "Network" tab).
- Check "Disable Cache".
- Make sure "Record network log" is enabled.
- Refresh the page. There should be a bunch of requests in the log now.
- Try to navigate to the series page via the main menu, or any page that isn't working for you.
- Right-click on any of the requests in the network monitor's list and select "Save All as HAR".
Since this file can contain sensitive information (cookies, access token), do not post it here. Instead, please send it to support@j-novel.club.
Also, avoid logging in while following the steps above, because that could expose your password. Logging in before is fine. -
@kmsomebody Hopefully someone else manages to do this. Because when I try, my whole browser just freezes before I'm even able to save the file. I need to open task manager and close my browser from there.
CPU and Memory goes through the roof as soon as I click on any link other then Forum from the main page.
I'll give it a few more tries tomorrow, as it's rather late for me now and getting worked up over this isn't a good idea :P
I did try with all anti virus and so on disabled, changed nothing.

@KopiCAT Sorry to hear that's happening to you, but it does feel like something that's only affecting your specific setup/configuration and not a widespread issue for anyone visiting our website. It is alarming to see that multiple users are experiencing this problem, but none of us internally can replicate it and we aren't getting more complaints via email or on Discord or anything, so we do believe there might ultimately be a solution related to disabling/uninstalling certain programs or browser add-ons.

I am using NordVPN and have no issues with the website on my PC (Chrome is the browser).

This happens to me running very basic, not-very-old version of Edge. When "Tracking prevention" from Edge is set to "Basic" or "Balanced", clicking practically any non-external link can basically crash the whole client area where if I try to debug with the inspector, the tab can no longer be closed.
When "Tracking prevention" is set to "Strict" then the webpage works perfectly.

@kmsomebody
Ok I managed to get it to work by downloading Firefox and logging in there, but Chrome still doesn't work and you can't even download the HAR files since the window/tab is just frozen and won't let you download it.(Edit)
It downloaded something in the HAR file, but it appears not complete -

Updating Edge fixed this issue for me. Since a website managed to get the browser in such a terrible state it felt like a browser bug (Chromium) and that it seemed to be.Nope, the Tracker Prevention was in "Strict" mode at that time. Client area still crashes with newest version. I do still think it's a Chromium bug at the root. Just something rare that j-novel club's page exposes.
-
@Pokute Cool, I just tried the same and that worked for me as well. Using firefox and my security settings were set to standard. Once I put it on strict, I could finally start reading again.
-
Having the same issue here on my MBP - tried Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari. Sometimes I could at least get through to the calendar or if I bookmarked a series could view that page. Have tried restarting browsers and clearing cookies, although have not restarted my computer. I was reading just fine earlier today, so very strange... Still works in Safari on my iPhone 8 though, so that's somewhere to read at least.

Website not working for me. Locks up on most links. Unable to access content, user info, calendar. Running silk on Amazon fire tablet. Nothing has changed in the tablet environment (as far as know) since I last accessed content yesterday. No plugins in browser or any other user apps running on tablet. Worked fine yesterday.
----- it's just started working ok now so currently no problems
