[Resolved] J-Novel site just broke?
-
I'm having problems reading some recent parts. The new parts open but fail to load. I can access the series, the calendar, The front page but no content.
Even bought chapters fail to load.
Is there some kind of mayor breakdown on the J-Novel Club site?
Edit: resolved. -
Same here. Tried on Firefox and Chrome with all extensions disabled in safe mode, and absolutely no novels load. The reader opens up, but hangs on a blank page. I've had one manga load, but I haven't tested that further. Something's seriously broken.
-
@specs same here been trying things on my end all I get is what appears the pages trying to load
-
Yeah, I reported the same over on discord. The staff are looking into it. Not much we can do now but wait.
-
I'm also experiencing the same issue. I even tried it in edge to see if it was a browser issue, but no luck.
-
Everything still loads fine on the app
-
@specs I am having the same issue. The text are not loading no matter how many times I change browsers or which novel I try. So it must be a server issue
-
Tried go back from the prepub part for new section and it redirects me to a I think german version of k novel site. Has a flag and all.
-
Same issue. I’ve even tried reopening one I just closed and I get a blank page. I’m using the app on my phone.
-
Good to know it's not just me
hope it's resolved soon 🙏 -
I'm having problems too, and when I try to go to the main listing for the LN series, it redirects me to a German language website that says it's broken... I think. I don't speak German.

Yeah, the app works and omg its so much better than the site so far, blessing in disguise almost

This post is deleted! -
Looks like its working again now :)
-
We appear to be up and running again.
-
Pardon the mess.
-
They reinstalled a pre-Nina version of the relevant software, and it's working now.
It seems it was suddenly attempting to pull the pages from the German language site...and funny thing, the English language titles weren't there!Life during times of change; I do not envy the J-Novel staff what they're dealing with just now.

@Geezer-Weasalopes I thought everything had been seperated in the code but forgot I had NOT done that for the reader codebase (which is a codebase within a codebase). It's not that much changes, just some links and a new part id format, which is the main reason everything broke.

@admin
It's a somewhat massive undertaking.
(I'm telling you this?! Such arrogance on my part!)
My programing coursework was 1980-1982, and I flunked out; I don't do well with Calculus and the other higher maths required for the major.Structured Programming was somewhat of a new idea at that time, using subroutine and module calls rather than spaghetti code.
Sounds like what happened underlines just what an improvement structured programming was; by it being one module being called you only had to tweak one section of code to fix it when it went wonky, no?Module may not be the proper term.
But everything was in one place that needed tweaking, not scattered throughout the code.I hope my terminology makes sense; forty years have passed, and while I still have most of my textbooks I haven't reread them since. (Yes, I'm a hoarder...)

The forum link on the blue page at the end of each prepub part is still going to a 404 type page for iPad safari.
