Where has the year gone? It's already autumn! We hope these new catchup series help members adapt :)

One of the oldest JNC series that's still running, How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom recently started streaming its 18th volume! When Souma Kazuya finds himself summoned to another world as a hero, instead of going out to slay fiends, he's given control of the kingdom instead! Can he rebuild the kingdom with his modern know-how and mundane but effective policies? And by the same author, Yashiro-kun's Guide to Going Solo stars a proud high-school loner who is roped into helping a popular girl learn his antisocial ways. Can he fend off this unwanted exposure, or will his methods evolve with the new experiences?

In Seventh, Lyle is expelled from his noble family after losing a duel to his younger sister Ceres. He later receives a mysterious necklace that has been passed down through the last seven generations of his bloodline. Can he handle its secrets and use them to restore his reputation?

Misaki was looking forward to a free ride to Amanotsuka Academy for Girls, but somehow ends up in an exclusive maid contract. She'll soon discover that she's in way over her head at the Girls Kingdom.

Kaoru is meeting an online friend for the first time. He's surprised when this friend turns out to be a girl named Nanami, but then he gets roped into cross-dressing to fool her parents! Find out how this crazy friendship develops in Sometimes Even Reality Is a Lie!

Finally, if you're looking for something different, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Isekai is a collection of writings from authors of renowned isekai series on what to do in the event of your own isekai experience! Get the down low now - don't get caught off guard!

J-Novel Club subscribers can check out these 30+ volumes for the entire month of September!

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

I'd somewhat recently put Reality is a Lie on my watch list for if it ever appeared on catchup. I'm thrilled it came about so quickly!

Read my April Fools prank, Zeteni’s Light Novel Review/s: The Incomplete Anthology! Link: t.ly/EZRn

Featuring about 40 series from JNC.

Nice, I've wanted to give Seventh a try.

I highly recommend Realist Hero, but if you decide you like it you should know that the premium epubs include a bunch of bonus stories that are not filler or what-ifs. They fill in gaps with side characters and include non-critical but interesting moments with the main cast.

Girl's Kingdom is one of the better yuri series I've ever read. Nothing like action and adventure in the middle of a school campus full of nobles and maids in modern Japan. (nobles being basically daughters of extremely rich people).

A chance encounter on the way to school on the first day has Misaki meeting up with one of the most famous and respected girls on the entire campus, who is intrigued by her and gives her a badge to wear saying it'll prove her connection to her, but without explaining what the badge really is. As the premise snippet alludes to, it turns out to be the proof that she's chosen her as an exclusive personal attendant with the intent to hire her after graduation. Which in that school is a really big deal, and generally not offered until you've been there a year or two, and here she is getting it on her very first day. It's a position of respect which would be coveted by many and the source of much jeallousy. Of course, she has to learn what that really means and do a hell of a lot of on-the-job training.

The down side is that the series got discontinued before all of the plot was resolved.

                  spoiler

reveals in our laps and had the gall to cancel it.

EDIT: But apart from that, it's an extremely good series and the characters really work. And in a character-driven genre, you need that.

My grasp on sanity remains absolute.

Oh, right, the poison, the poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison. ...That poison?

Can't say I'm interested I this month's catch-ups. Seventh lost my interest in vol 1 because all the characters were so unlikeable, I've lost interest in realist hero at vol 18, and the others just don't seem appealing.

I am currently reading Mother of Learning and really enjoying it.

I might try the Hitchhikers Guide since it is only one volume but most likely I will pass on this month's selections.

Glad to hear that others are excited to try some series.

Seventh is from the author of Mobuseka, a series I love, so I might enjoy it, but is on hiatus and might never be concluded...hard decisions to make.

@Lex Seventh's WN was finished, I believe, but the author is currently writing LNs for his other 2 very successful series, Intergalactic Empire and Mob. So I wouldn't hold my breath for the Seventh LN series to ever be completed.

@Zakrhune I thought that maybe the success of Mobuseka could reignite interest in Seventh, but apparently the author is making more Mobuseka spin offs instead. I guess the best option is to read the ending from the WN, assuming the story isn't too different.

@pcj Didn't it go on indefinite hiatus?

I really wish it would pick back up as some major mysteries and secrets were heavily alluded to that is killer not being able to find out what they actually are.

@TheGrimLich Did Girls Kingdom get canceled? I thought it was a indefinite hiatus?

Either way it kills not being able find out what all those ongoing secrets were.

                                    @heimdal7 I mean, for the audience, that's a distinction without a difference.

@TheGrimLich Ya pretty much but with listed as hiatus instead of canceled means there is still that 1% of hope to hold onto.

I almost never read LNs set in ordinary Japan, but Yashiro-kun's Guide to Going Solo was surprisingly enjoyable.

It's only 2 volumes, so you still have time to binge it.

How many volumes are out in Japan for Sometimes Even Reality Is a Lie! Manga? I see this got 3 volumes ou already over here. So I wondering if it is short series or long one.

@JRPG-Nation there's a 4th volume out, but it only tends to release one volume a year. I think there's more material that isn't yet a part of a volume, but unsure if it's enough for a full volume yet.
