Author: Kannazuki Kou
Artist: Yuunagi
Publisher: Kadokawa ShotenStatus: 11 LN Volumes (Ongoing)
Other: MangaDescription: Reiji Saeki, who lives in the north eastern countryside town, lost his life in an accident during summer vacation. ……But before he knew it, a mysterious ball of light hovered in front of his eyes in a world of whiteness. That ball of light was a magician from a parallel world, and is looking for a person qualified to inherit the magic they had created to prevent it from being lost. Reiji, who rode on that suggestion, now lives in the parallel world Elgin, with a new body and powerful magical power.
My thoughts: First of all: The MC's partner and companion is a Griffin! I just love Griffins! It is rare that it is not a sort of wolf, cat or dragon so this is a big plus for me. And Set (the Griffin) is just adorable!
Then, he doesn't die through a truck crash. I mean, it's not that I mind it that much... but yeah :D
And i like the MC's Character. He doesn't really want to stand out but when he is insulted or provoked he doesn't let it slide easily either.
As far as I understand (I read the Manga) the ones getting the skills are actually the weapon (a scythe) and Set, which is also unique.
I'd really love to see how his journey continues. -
I've quite enjoyed the manga. I could have sworn that this was suggestion already, as it's a reasonably well-known series, but sure enough it's not in the list of existing suggestions.
-
@guspaz Yes I was surprised myself. Got hooked on the Manga today and found the novel soon. I looked through the list and even searched for it but... yeah. So had to put it on the table asap :D

I was actually planning on suggesting this one after I got back from vacation. I've been following the WN and I'm caught up with it. The WN itself has 1800+ chapters, so they have a lot of content to publish new volumes too. I'd love to see a proper translation of it, the fan translation is not exactly what I'd call great...
You've got another vote 😁

@terabyte +1

Jesus Christ 1800 chapters, as interesting as this sounds i doubt Sam will want to get involved in a series that has the potential to be this excessively long.
-
The WN is at 18.5k pages... That is around 50 volumes worth of content.
-
@catstorm The author has been putting out one chapter a day for a few years. He's got quite the output. That said, there are only currently 11 volumes in light novel form.
-
I'm not sure how long the WN chapters, and how many are included in a single LN volume compared to other LNs though. For example Isekai Smartphone contains about 25 WN chapters per volume, with extra content written for the LN only. I have seen another LN that has as many as 45-50 WN chapters per volume (can't recall the name right now).
Anyway, if the author keeps writing and has already written that much it just makes me think the story is still good after all this time :)

i will say this. if you like big creatures that act adorable like puppies then set chan's adventure coughs i mean Legend is for you. I will say this if it get's an official release i will buy the ebook the very day it comes out because i love the story also. SET CHAN IS ADORABLE!!!

Damn.
I keep getting tricked by the title thinking it's another 'Legend' series—the one I want.
NisiOisiN's "Densetsu Series" -
I love the web novel for this series and it definitely deserves more attention. The characters and world are really interesting and unlike most Isekai series it doesn't fall into the trap of being centred around the protagonist craving Japanese food (apart from 3 chapters of the web novel but that’s like 170 ish chapters in after 3 really good arcs so I’ll just write it off as audience pandering in japan xD). Imo the main character is really well written and a good example of how to write a powerful protagonist, he has powerful innate abilities he was granted but lacks the skills and knowledge to make full use of them. here's hoping it gets picked up and translated, I’d happily buy the entire series if it was ; )
while the number of web novel chapters would appear intimidating to any translator, they aren’t the longest chapters out there and the story (from what I’ve heard anyway) is refined and compressed in the LN version.

I'd definitely love to see this one translated!

I kinda like this manga, would love to see LN licensed and translated.
Had a change of heart since a while ago about this story. The protagonist has as much personality as a brick, his powers are kinda all over the place. Any exciting plotlines gets buried in mundane day to day recollection of protagonists daily life.
Its just meh. -

Well, I like the character designs, though Scythes are horrible weapons in the form that they normally take.
Just make sure that it's also a gun and it will be an awesome weapon.

Currently the wn is all most at 2k chapters. i would love to see it translated as well as so far I am enjoying it.

2k chapters o.O Jeeze...
I know LN chapters tend to be rather short, but still.
Tell me about it, 2k chapters, and 109 WN chapters cover up to the 3rd volume of the LN. At least this is still being translated (WN), most of the WN series I’ve been reading hit dead ends when the translators catched up with the latest chapter and drop it (or dropped prematurely after a few chapters), like “Restraunt to Another World” and “My Entire Class Was Summoned to Another World except for Me”.

@kite-xx @sinnoaria and worst part of all some of it can be taken out completely due to it being repetitive and such. I think that is why the Light novels tend to be further than the Web novel. Judging by illustrations.
