You can suggest up to 3 books (it doesn't stipulate if they have to be manga, and LNs are mentioned in the survey).
There's also a chance you could win a free book from them.
My 3 suggestions were Sakurako San, Danganronpa Novels (Zero?), and Subete Ga No F: The Perfect Insider.
I wanted to suggest Shiki too though. xC
-
Huh, I follow them on Twitter and I somehow missed this, good catch.
-
While we are on the topic of Seven Seas I just wanted to point out they just licensed the manga of ANTI-MAGIC ACADEMY: THE 35TH TEST PLATOON
And while the idea of getting a 3-in-1 Omnibus of the series is great and something I will support...Getting 13 novels to read would make this day significantly better.

@Rahul-Balaggan One guy in the comments on Twitter mentioning the LN. Up vote his post people. xD
I don't know much about the property, but seems to be older character designs, and I'll take any LN localizations (especially if they aren't your typical Isekai). =]

Well, yeah, short after the announcement on twitter I write that it is nice that they will bring 3 volumes of manga and I will buy it, but LN have 13 volumes so I will be more happy about LN news :D But I think they will move a bit with LN after survey. I believe that there will be more ppl that will suggest the same thing. They have a really good material there, Akashic record of bastard magical instructor, Mushoku Tensei, Shinmai maou no testament are good examples.
I know that Shinmai can make some people in management anxious because of lewd content. Yeah vol 10 is a bit overkill :D But I think that market need to get over this. You know Highschool DxD, Shinmai, HxH, we have a manga versions, but no one makes a LN, that is a bit sad. -
Hey guys please ask for Jobless Recarnation's (Mushoku Tensei) LN!
They have the Manga licensed, but so far the LN isn't being translated.
It's such a great LN with good characters, and I loved every moment of it.
So far there are 15 volumes or so in Japanese, with the web novel actually finished.
There is a fan translation of the web novel, however the official novels start to deviate from the web novels later on so there are some differences.
Oh and the protagonist isn't dense about his sexual needs.
The story goes from him being reborn all the way to him becoming an adult, married, having kids. -
@Bryan yuppers I asked for Mushoku (LN), Haganai(LN), and Encouragement of the climb (Manga)
-
D'oh, I should've asked for "This Art Club Has A Problem" manga. We'll probably never get anime continuation. =(
-
@sparhawk6 Volume 10 overkill lol. Yeah, I've followed the crowdfund and seen some of the ecchi that only gets more explicit in volume 10.
I would love to see them get akashic records, but thy seem to be leery of getting Novels, they tend to translate manga more.
-
@Terrence man I agree it's nice to have the manga, but it's so short and varies from the novel. Though I'm somewhat annoyed with the true ending of the LN, but it was excellent overall. The anime on the other hand.... was so rushed and bad.

Yeah, I would love to see Akashic records LN version too, I mention it a few times on their twitter and fb when they get a new manager. I really like this LN. I get pre-ordered manga version from seven seas, manga is not bad, but well, LN is simply better.
About Shinmai, well that Mio scene was nice ! :D -
@Terrence I also wanted to suggest Sakurako, but I could only pick three :/
I picked- Kokoro connect(The anime was gaahhh good)
- Yowa-Chara Tomozaki-kun (heard it's good and popular in japan, it's description intrudged me)
- Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou (which is the one I'm most excited about. Probably also the least likely to get licensed :(...)
-
This probably should be it's own thread, but Seven Seas announced a Novel today (two novels).
Perfect Blue: Metamorphosis will be released on December 12, 2017 for $14.99 USA / $16.99 CAN and Perfect Blue: Awaken from a Dream will be released on April 24, 2018 for $14.99 USA / $16.99 CAN.
I can't find a Goodreads page for the JP volumes, but probably because I'm using English names. xC
-
@Terrence Yeah I just saw that, supercool! This and Heroic Legend shows 7Seas to be the only company interested in classic Light Novels, it's really exciting!
Although officially are the Perfect Blue books Light Novels? I'm not positive of the original publishers.
-
@the-green-death Someone said they're Novel Novels on Twitter. They also linked to the Twitter pages for the writer and his assistant, so I would guess they know their stuff.

Cool, I wasn't sure. Honestly I'm reading a few less Light Novels and more straight Japanese novels at the moment.

December survey is up!

Thanks for the heads up. I only made one suggestion for them, Neko Musume Michikusa Nikki(manga) < monster girl cuteness all around.

I requested Mushoku Tensei (LN) (as I have for the last 5 months), Kara no Kyoukai (LN), and Shomin Sample (LN). Seven Seas already has the manga for Shomin Sample so I can hope. Maybe that reduces the barriers. I really think the Light Novel market is an excellent place for these companies to invest. The quality of fan scanlated manga has reached a point where I'd call it marginally worse if not just as good as professionally translated manga. It is probably difficult to compete with such a strong and fast black market. The fan translated light novels though are almost always significantly worse than the professional ones and I think the companies will find that there are many fans who do not buy manga that would be happy to buy light novels.
-
I requested Seitokai no Ichizon, Mushoku Tensei, and the Gate (manga). Sekai Project is seriously failing when it comes to publishing the series and I doubt they'll continue after they finally release volume 2. (It's been more than 2 years since pre-orders went up for it.)
