Acquisitions Speculation - General

@Fezu In b4 "My Toilet Bowl is an Isekai".
Edit: Did you post their latest Tweet in response to a reviewer on Twitter?
"I advise if you're announcing anything big to NOT do it on April 1st,. for obvious reasons. :)"
"Yes, anything we'd announce on April 1st would have to be really special."
Hmm... We've been had? xD

Announcing our new spinoff to My Little Sister Can Read Kanji...
My Little Ponii Can Read Kanji!
Read now (for 1 day only): https://j-novel.club/c/my-little-ponii-can-read-kanji
I said everyone would flip! I just didn't say that what everyone would be flipping would be tables.

@Sam-Pinansky unsubscribed 😫
April Fools!!! 😋

@Sam-Pinansky said in Speculation thread regarding new Aquisitions [POSSIBLY 3 NEW TITLES HINTED, TIME FOR SPECULATION!]:

That was something special.... I don't know MLP well at all so some of the jokes went over my head. That last scene got a chuckle though!

@the-green-death What was the deal with Megan being a banned name? I'm not a bronie either, so confused. =/
Who wrote this? xD
-
I should've known, man preemptive April Fools are way worse than ones that happen on the day!
Oh well, still got to look forward to whether or not those two other tentative titles happen.
-
4 New Titles hinted, time to get lndb hunting again. Choo choo!
-
Hint #1 Fractal - I don't know
Hint #2 At Least it's not an isekai - I don't know
Hint #3 Long Title #6249 - I don't know
Hint #4 Fraction of a Galaxy - I don't know -
All I can think about is that they must be interesting titles if Steiner is potentially involved. Other than that since Sam is so convinced we'd be surprised about these titles. I guess there'll be a new title from a new bunko/anime related/or heavily requested one from HJ/Overlap.
-
I worked hard to make the hints... hard this time ;)
There's a logic to all of them however.
-
Fraction of a Galaxy? Star/Planet?
Clockwork Planet.
I am joking -
@Fezu None of the clues are for Clockwork Planet.
-
Really, the important question is if any of them will publish on Mon/Tues to fill the gap between releases...
-
@Sam-Pinansky Damn, well looking forward to whatever it leads to.
-
Hoping the long title one is Uchi no Musume no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai .
And the space one reminded I suggested Antique of the Galactic War Chronicle before, though I doubt that's it. -
Fractal?
Fractal is a never-ending pattern. So could it be a Light novels series that has been going on for a long time? Or the author has been on hiatus for a long time so the series never ends? Or maybe it is a LN that features a time loop or something?
-
@Hakomari I think in the podcast Sam did with ANN he was asked if they will pick up a long running series 20+ volumes and he said he was.
He said the series he was talking about was not Apocolyse...so could be.
Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

@Rahul-Balaggan Could it be Mushoku Tensei? It will have 20+ volumes and at least one sequel series.
-
In the AMA Sam also mentioned that he was picking up an older, but popular series (link text and I know Frogkun guessed it might be Infinite Stratos). I haven't seen the anime, so I'm not sure if that fits any of the clues, but the fact that it has an anime probably helps its chances.
That link also summarized some of the other licensing stuff Sam discussed.

@lazyproblems The author seems to not want his series released outside of the country and the series is owned by two bunkos. One for the first few volumes then the others. Soo, I don't think it's very likely. One of them bunkos are also owned by Kadokawa.
