Newbie questions

Hello everyone. I'm quite new to Light Novels in general, but due to having seen some anime of them, read manga adaptations of some(I believe) and wanting a way to use my ereader more, as well as relaxing in late in the evening before bed, I decided to give it a shot.
Now, I've already checked out Ascendance of a Bookworm and Reborn to Master the Blade. The first one because of its reputation, which is well deserved at this, the 2nd one because I really enjoyed the anime. Still sad it never got a 2nd season.
But 2 questions come up for me: Is it possible to download previews to check them out on my ebook? I think the answer is no, since I've been looking but didn't find anything to let me do that.
the 2nd is: Which Light novels would you recommend? I've already mentioned the above two, but I know Jobless Reincarnation is quite good as well. Another one is Level 2 cheat powers, with the fox wife, but that's the manga, not the anime. I also enjoyed villainess level 99. Below, I'll list some that come up now and maybe later, so I have a general idea of what I've thought of.
But I'm also looking for other genres this medium has to offer that I might overlook or not even touch, due to so many of them being "reincarnation" stories. Still, I would like a few pointers to start out with and... well, I probably should just try light novels in the mean time.
List:
Ascendance of a Bookworm
Level 2 cheat powers
Archdemon's dilemma
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless reincarnation
Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero King to Extraordinary Squire
Irregular at magic high school
Misfit of the demon king academy
Level 99 villainess -
At the JNC site you can read the initial section of the 'in process pre-pub' for any volume (which may differ from the final published translation.)
Most of the ebook retailers JNC works with have previews you can glance through.
In all cases the preview is not that long, so may or may not give a good feel for the story.
I don't think any of them have a downloadable preview that isn't tied to their own app or ereader.JNC now has a 'rental' program, where you can get access to the completed work volume for a set number of days; if you chose to purchase the work from JNC during that time the rental fee counts 100% toward the purchase price.
Once purchased it can be downloaded and read in the reader of your choice. -

Level 2 cheat powers
Level 2 cheat powers is a light novel. it also has a manga.
for recommendations, it would be helpful to know what kind of stories you like/are looking for.
Don't forget to read the catchups on the app or webpage. each month different ones come out.

Question 1: Reading on e-readers.
Download? No.
However, I can read pre-pubs using my Kindle Oasis's web browser app and can read it using the JNC app on my tablet. So, accessibility depends on your e-reader device.
Question 2: Recommendations
Hard to say without knowing why you like the series you are currently reading, but the following JNC suggestions come to mind to show you a variety of what JNC has to offer:- Altina the Sword Princess
- A Pale Moon Reverie
- Yashiro-kun's Guide to Going Solo
- My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World
-
Also, there is a discussion topic for reading recommendations.

For Question 1:
I'm unsure if you need previews unless you plan to read books in a JNovel app or on the JNovel site in your reader's browser.
The books are in .epub formats which will generally conform to whatever settings your reader has set for those kinds of files. If you want examples of what the same book looks like across devices I can definitely show you but essentially it's just "whatever settings I have set for the app I'm reading on".For Question 2:
Along with Ascendance of a Bookworm I would definitely suggest Campfire Cooking In Another World, The Epic Tale of the Reincarnated Prince Herscherik and The Economics of Prophecy (of the Jnovel books, I uh... definitely have a type). For newer series, I really enjoyed RVing My Way into Exile and Jeanette the Genius lol.
But like, tbh either go with series that are different than what you usually enjoy or go for novels in the genres you know you like. Not every novel will vibe with you, even if you enjoyed other forms of it (for example, I really didn't care for The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat so I was surprised that I enjoyed the anime so much)

@Geezer-Weasalopes thanks. That's unfortunate, since I don't want to read novels on the app itself, I'd rather read on an ereader when it comes to novels.
The problem for me is that I'm trying to figure out where my actual interests in terms of stories lie. I guess using the recommendations thread is a good way to go.
For now, I'll try the ones some people have listed here and check the thread later.
Although, I might turn out to be omnivore...

If you get the membership, you can read all of a bunch of different light novels on a tablet:
- Any new series added, starting with volume 1
- The latest volume of ongoing series
- A rotating set of catch-up releases every month, see "This Month’s Catchup Series" at the bottom of the main page
I  my Kindle for reading books, but my iPad works well for reading the content above. If you don't want to spend the money for an iPad, a Lenovo Tab will do the job, either 8" or 10". You could also gamble on some no-name tablet from Amazon. Or a Fire tablet on sale (8" refurb is $55) but it comes with their own "Silk" browser which might or might not work with JNC -- though you can side-load Firefox or Chrome.
