Trying to use Google pay and it keeps failing

I am trying to use my Google pay to subscribe to Assendance of a bookworm series. It keeps defaulting to a credit card but charging $1 to my Google pay. This has happened twice. I don't want to do anymore as I am not seeing the transactions in my history on the site.

There is no direct Google Pay payment option on the site. Google Pay is used as a way of adding a credit card to the site without having to type it in. It is not a traditional contactless payment method.
That is why it defaults to your CC. The $1 charge is just a hold charge that will drop off in a few days.
If you are looking to subscribe to the membership your only option is CC. If you are only looking to buy coins and redeem them for specific books. You can purchase coins on the site with a CC. Or you can buy them on the app via in-app purchase. The price is the same.
