Synopsis of book 1 (from publisher site via Google Translate)

In Yamauchi, a world ruled by the Yatagarasu clan instead of humans, the selection of a young prince who will be the heir to the throne is about to begin. Four princesses are sent by four powerful noble families who are fiercely competing for power in the imperial court. The four princesses boast their own charms, as if they control the four seasons, and compete for the position of empress with various motives in their hearts, from conspiracies over the heir to love for the young prince. However, one incident after another occurs while the young prince never appears. A maid disappears, a mysterious letter arrives, and an intruder enters the harem... A mansion built with the utmost luxury on a steep rocky mountain, a carriage pulled by a large crow instead of a horse flying through the sky, and costumes more beautiful than the flowers, birds, wind, and moon of the four seasons. Beneath the surface of this beautiful and glamorous court life, which of the four princesses is scheming to disrupt the young prince's visit and make the course of the empress selection uneasy? Who on earth will be chosen by the young prince?
Overflowing with imagination and an unexpected ending - look forward to the arrival of this major new talent that is sure to amaze you.

This is a court drama / mystery series in a fantasy setting.

I was hooked by the anime that started airing last season and I badly want to read the novels.

I also enjoyed the anime. However, I still cannot get use to 3-legged ravens. (They creep me out for some reason...)

The anime is done. I would really love to read more of this.

From what I understand, it only adapted the 2nd volume (maybe with bits & pieces from the 1st?) and there's a lot more to go.
