Does a manga slow down writing of the LN, or vice versa?
-
First of all, not quite sure where else to put this. So put it here I did.
I've actually been wondering this for a while. Does a light novel getting serialized in a manga, or vice versa, affect the speed if you will of releases of the other?
As in, do these authors or mangaka put their focus on that other project more rather then focusing on the original, whether that be a light novel or manga? Or is this mostly a case by case basis? Or not true at all, and purely a misguided feeling on my part? Because that is my current feeling. That whenever a LN gets a manga, the releases often slows down.
Anyone got thoughts?

@KopiCAT completely inconsistent. Some authors get heavily involved with manga adaptations, wanting to sign off on character designs and storyboarding etc. Others ignore it completely. And of course numerous others in between.
LN release pace is already completely inconsistent between authors. There's no one single factor that applies universally to all of them.

@KopiCAT Its generally depends on the author on how much control or particular they want their series to be interpreted. Theres obviously be some level of coordination to get the facts right but other than that, it all depends. Sometimes an anime also does the same.
Others, possibly the author got a writer's block or couldnt think of how to continue the series. The author of my fav series, tsukimichi moonlit fantasy, took 1+ years off writing the web novel to focus on the anime. Even after the anime ended, he barely uploaded more before discontinue altogether to focus more on the LN which is many volumes behind. Been following the series for at least 6 years so its sad but ill be satisfied once its properly translated to eng in a timely manner at least

@Knighteem Holy damn. That's a nostalgic name. I quit reading that one after the translators just kept translating side stories because the author stopped releasing new chapters. Had no idea why. That's like 3 years ago now.
Edit;
Lol. I checked novelupdates. Last chapter I read was on 01/23/22, because I read them the day they released. So exactly 3 years, 4 days ago. -
From what I have seen ill health tends to be the biggest cause of LN delays more than other adaptations.
Closely followed by issues with publishers, although I have seen a couple of honest authors admit to delays caused by the release of there favourite gaming franchise.
