Here's the catchup selection for this month!

      • The Water Magician - Ryo is reincarnated into a world of fantasy, and all he wants is to take it easy and learn magic. With the blessing of Eternal Youth, decades pass before he knows it, but even that only serves as the prelude to the adventures of the strongest water magician! Watch the anime too, airing now!
      • Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter - Check out the manga adaptation of this currently airing anime! Can Allen help the duke's daughter Tina learn to use magic? And what happens if he does?
      • Infinite Stratos - The most powerful military technology, the Infinite Stratos, can only piloted by women, until Orimura Ichika is found to have the necessary qualities. As the sole man in IS academy, will he hold his own, or be devoured? Read the series that inspired the anime from yesteryear!
      • I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness: I'll Spoil Her with Delicacies and Style to Make Her the Happiest Woman in the World! - When the recluse wizard Allen meets the runaway noblewoman Charlotte, he decides to corrupt her in the only way he knows how... via laziness and gluttony! Can Charlotte retain her sense of pride and responsibility, or will she succumb to the temptations of sleeping in and junk food?!
      • The Troubles of Miss Nicola the Exorcist - Formerly a Shinto exorcist in her past life, Nicola is now a young noblewoman whose foremost worries are suitors and tea parties. However, she soon finds that her knowledge of exorcism is indispensible in a world that knows nothing of spirits, curses, and karma.
      • Are You Okay With a Slightly Older Girlfriend? - When Kaoru saves a high school girl on the train from being harassed, he never could have imagined she'd be... slightly older than him. He'll have to do his darndest to make this romance work!

JNC members can read over 30 volumes all September!

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Water Magician is worth reading for the Ryo and Abel comedy act, even if the author sometimes takes away the fun with chapters covering other characters many of us don't care about, or international politics that are entirely forgettable.

If you read through the discussion threads you'll find us asking which nation is which, because the Empire, Federation, Kingdom, Other Thing (Hanna-Barbera Principality?) are just not worth remembering. Once it switches back to Ryo the fun resumes.

I've read everything except Miss Nicola the exorcist. I can recommend each series if one is interested in their respective genre, but avoid Infinite Stratos unless you really, really, really love dense protagonists and violent tsunderes.. Could've been a nice battle harem series but was ruined with a bad execution.

Which the anime captured perfectly: Season1: Fun, promising. Season 2: Nope, run away!

It’s a shojo with a dark twist. Nothing extremely gruesome but if you like Japanese yokai folklore and curses this one’s pretty interesting

Now this is my chance to read the whole of Infinite Stratos. I was going to collect it on Amazon but the series was removed before I had a chance and I didn't want to switch to another reader.

I checked the first episode for The Water Magician and Private Tutor and they didn't grab my interest. The synopsis for both are also not that interesting so I might stay away even though it's available.

Of course, I'll read the Kota Nozomi story. I like his romcom stories.

@saidahgilbert - You probably know this already, but you can send the DRM-free JNC epubs directly to your kindle library by downloading the file and then going to https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle

You can also use the free Calibre app - https://calibre-ebook.com/

Miss Nicola is rather similar to Maomao in she somewhat begrudgingly solves mysteries and helps people out.
And like Maomao, she has an impossibly beautiful young man she’s exasperated by but shows subtle affection for.

I strongly recommend this series for anyone who likes Apothecary Diaries

Slightly Older Girlfriend was surprisingly well done IMO. I did not expect to stick with it but I did. I recommend it for anyone that like the genre.

@wanderer_1204 glad you enjoyed it. I hope more people will check it out, there are not a lot of stories that really scratch that Maomao itch when you run out of Apothecary Diaries to read so I really appreciate Miss Nicola

Great to see anime/manga for airing anime on the list.
