If it is for my daughter volume 8
-
Did a quick double check on these forums, but also through Google. Finally managed to find that volume 8 of this series (only discovered it 2 days ago) is due to be released in Japan on 22/02/19.
Since I have already managed to complete the first 7, I am curious to how this will conclude (though I guess the cover art kind of gives the clue). I have not seen anything on the current release schedule, but is there any indication if it is likely to be March when the first parts of the translation will be released?I am also looking forwards to having the full collection on my physical shelves.

If negotiations with Hobby Japan go smoothly and the translation team gets materials early enough, the first part should probably go live about 2 weeks after it releases in Japan, based on past releases of freshly-released volumes in other series. You won’t see anything on the schedule about the volume until the first part goes live, so you’ll have to be patient. Also, it’s unlikely, but every once in a while negotiations get behind, and in the case of Arifureta 9, it’s been a month and a half since it released in Japan, and we still have no word on when it will start here, so sometimes it can take a while. But usually it’s within a matter of weeks.

"Conclude" ? It's confirmed as the last volume ?
-
@raitoiro The author hinted at that in V7's afterword. I think it was something like "my editor told me it was fine to split the last volume into 2."

Though my Japanese is very basic and rough. From what I can understand from this:
https://hobbyjapan.co.jp/hjnovels/lineup/detail/173.html
It appears to be stating that this is the end of the story. Unless someone who has a better understanding of the language can provide a better translation?
Thank you above for the answer. I am kind of hoping that Spring 2019 will promise the release of this in a fully translated version. Not normally a genre which I would have chosen, so I am grateful that it was included in the February Catch-up

I haven't read any of the story to know anything more than what I just read from the link above. However, it does "imply" that this is the end of the story. I say imply because the sentence isn't really clear whether it's referring to the overall story or the volume. I even tried looking it up the series on https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/うちの娘の為ならば、俺はもしかしたら魔王も倒せるかもしれない。#書籍 to confirm but the 8th volume isn't even listed there, and no info about the series ending.

Well it was released in Japan yesterday, my friend who is much more fluent in Japanese provided the only comment in regards to the book. "Good end", and if anyone has seen the final illustration, they can understand why. Actually all the illustrations were rather beautiful.
I cannot wait until the translation is started and completed. Then I would just wait for the paperbacks. -
Justus R. Stone and his podcast crew recently referred to this series as "creepy". I haven't found this series "creepy" so could someone elaborate on this for me.

@lighthawk96 In a nutshell...

Well looks like we won't get For my Daughter v8 for at least another 2 weeks, unfortunately :(
https://twitter.com/jnovelclub/status/1114862260982288384It'll start April 20th or soon after.

@legitpancake I can be patient... Maybe...
-
@paul-nebeling Yeah. I kinda figured all that out but since this is a fantasy world I just kind of rolled with the story and never really got that vibe from it that was mentioned in the podcast. I actually have really enjoyed this story and can't wait for volume 8 to be released. I just didn't see it that way so I was kind of like....
What? -
@myskaros Thanks for the explanation. It's just I never got that vibe from any of the story so it somewhat confused me as to why they would say that. I happen to think the author did a good job of resolving that issue so I just didn't get that comment.
-
@lighthawk96 It's well-researched enough that it's not something you can just dismiss by ignoring it. The author may have written it without making it seem overly problematic, but the realistic truth is that there are unavoidable problems. That's why some people will always find it "creepy" or "exploitative." If you don't, then that's fine.

@jon-mitchell I pretty much glossed over Dale and Latina's relationship because, frankly, she isn't human, so do human standards even apply? I hadn't even thought about what you said in your spoiler, but, yeah. Absolutely.
For a disturbing relationship, read Bluesteel Blasphemer. (Details below)
Pretty messed up. Dale and Latina really don't compare to that.

@paul-nebeling
being human (or related) or not may un-check some boxes and check some others as to if :For My Daughter, walks a tightrope. I understand how some could find it creepy. I eventually didn't. The author spent enough time fleshing out the culture and context of Dale/Latina's relationship and Latina's background. She had agency.
