Realist Hero Volume 2 Illustrations
-
I recently purchased volume 2 of Realist Hero from the Kobo store. Is it supposed to be the case that there are only three black and white illustrations in the entire book? Especially since the first volume had ten of them.
-
@Catscope Prepub also has three gray-scale illustrations so that's probably just how it is.
-
It is. I'm not sure why there were so few in that volume, maybe a scheduling issue for the Japanese publisher, but our version isn't missing any illustrations that are supposed to be there.
I'm happy to say that volume 3 is back up to roughly the same number of illustrations as the first volume, though. -

Brilliant, thank you. That's my mild panic ended, though now it's been replaced with faint disappointment. Good to hear about the next volume.
Thank you for your hard work translating too, by the way.

On a happier note regarding art and this series, I was looking through Overlap's site the other day and noticed they've announced it'll be getting a reprint of the first two voulmes in Japan and a "comicalization," or, as we'd call it, a manga adaptation. (I wonder if the better-than-they-expected reception over here helped with that.)
No details on it yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.Relevant link: http://blog.over-lap.co.jp/juhan_genkoku_170501/

@Sean-McCann It's getting a manga? Sweet, then it can finally be added to MAL.
-
@Sean-McCann and with every passing day I want J-Novel Club to start officially translating Manga...
If that is not the very definition of oxymoron I don't know what is...
-
Yeah, not worth all the work though. It is gonna get pirated anyway...
-
There are some light novels on MAL that don't have a manga adaptation. I have been trying to add other titles as well but the mods never approve them...
-
@Hakomari In that case I will never be able to read it.
(Tears)
-
I'll just wait for the fan-translations or read the raws myself.
-
@Hakomari I don't read from Fan Sites anymore...
And if I am reading it that means I am importing it...but I have more urgent stuff that needs to be imported.
-
Ah, I get it. I try to buy the original as well if I am reading the fan-translations. But importing stuff can be very time and money consuming.
-
@Hakomari Yea, if MAL cared half as much about improving the database as they do spamming ads, then I'm sure we could've gotten it added by now. In the mean time, we have to wait for the manga to at least get a release date so we can add it to the database, then add the Light Novel after that. Stupid backwards ass policies. >_>
-
MAL website is literally unusable on mobile phones. There are ads everywhere and even the ad-blocker can't block them all.
Sevens was added to MAL despite not having a manga adaptation, so I really wonder what their policy is. Maybe it just depends on the admin/mod.
-
@Hakomari For Light Novels, they're only supposed to be added if either an adaptation already exists in the database, or the author or artist are already in the database.
-
Hah, what an interesting(shitty) policy.
-
@Hakomari I agree. It gives people less opportunity to discover smaller but great Light Novels. Just Imagine how many wonderful Light Novels they'd be missing(including me)
