ANN Manga Adaptation newsMy take: The manga actually was the reason I've heard of the series but having the actual novel translated or even licensed would be better especially now that one of Iori's works Side-by-side Dreamers is already in this site. Having the novel he's currently working on licensed here would be amazing too. The sci-fi and mystery premise of this along with its yuri elements between the two main girls really pulled my interest in it and I would love to see other people getting into this series as well.
Also, there's an interview with the author just recently translated in English that you can find here. There's so much info on how the type of yuri he writes is different compared to what we've been used to for so long, which he wants to show in this novel.
(Also I searched for this title in different ways possible but no results, so here we are)

The synopsis kinda remind me of SCP-093.
I don't really care about yuri but it's great if it can help getting more mystery, horror or sci-fi title. -
Oh I liked that cover on first sight; it reminded me of the stereotypical Morinaga Milk lead characters.
Then I read and saw "yuri", "sci-fi", and "horror" which are 3 genres I love. I want this to be so good but worry since I'm critically hard on sci-fi, and even more so for horror.
Then I read the interview, and found myself liking this author's way of thinking. His yuri colored glasses are almost as good as mine !(lol)
I was waiting for Side by Side Dreamers to get fully translated to buy the premium and read it all in one sitting but I don't think I can wait now.
Thanks for the find, the link and the recommendation!

@raitoiro said in Urasekai Picnic (Otherside Picnic):
The synopsis kinda remind me of SCP-093.
Yeah, the SCP influences are pretty obvious, especially later on in the series. Also Arkady and Boris Strugatsky's Roadside Picnic (from which it gets its name) and its adaptation in the Andrei Tarkovsky film Stalker.

Gonna share some more links and images that wasn't on the first post.
Volume 2 cover: https://i.imgur.com/Xfa8YIc.jpg
Volume 3 cover: https://i.imgur.com/0ZuRWzM.jpg
Manga version: https://www.ganganonline.com/contents/urasekai/Chapter 1 available at Gangan online plus a new chapter every month (it's 3 issues late compared to the actual serialization released every month)
The manga really gives you a good idea on what the series is mostly about but of course reading this in novel format is more fulfilling (the horror stuff can be up to your imagination). There's probably some stuff the manga left out from the novel or probably doing in another order, so there's stuff like that we might miss out.

@harunachiep My mistake, you should be fine to post those pictures, I have changed your post back.

I went through some google translated summaries about the currently released volumes and so far I'm really liking the mystery concept of it.
Here's a get to know the author more post. Part 2 of the interview involving him (link on the first post) just had its translation in English posted today. Link here. Gengen Kusano (author of Last and First Idol) is also in this so if you wanna see these two "duel" out in the yuri topic, this is a must read.
On another somehow related note, Volume 3 of the Ureasekai Picnic manga is showing to be released by August according to the generated tweet when you share the Shonen Gangan online link of the series.
