The New Gate
-
Author: Kazanami Shinogi
Volumes: 11 (Ongoing)Description:
“THE NEW GATE”, an online game that trapped its players and turned into a death game, was now releasing the thousands of players that had been dragged into it, thanks to the efforts of Shin, one of the most powerful players. But after having defeated the last boss and freed everyone, he was swallowed up by a strange light and found himself inside the game world 500 years in the future and unable to leave. My thoughts: A good series. Im surprised it wasn't suggested until now actually :)

I read the fan-translation of this one through volume 5 but I dropped it when I became inundated with official releases and I got tired of him hiding his OPness. I wouldn't mind re-reading it again though because I really liked it at first, but I don't think anyone has managed to release an AlphaPolis novel yet.

I would really like to read an official translation of this one.
-
Would like to get official translation of this as well. So far reading fan translation and its decent quality.
-
I really like the series. I stalled a bit with v10 being a flashback volume, but I'll power through it once the full volume is translated. I'd buy/prepub a JNC release of it.
The fan translation is nearly caught up to the raws (11 volumes raw, volume 10 currently being translated), and the entire series has been translated with good quality by a single group. "Shin Translations", named after the series protagonist, they've been releasing consistently for more than three years and doesn't translate anything else (at least under that name). There do appear to be more than one translator internally, so it may or may not be a candidate for a similar situation as Rokujouma and Isekai Mahou.

I want this. I enjoy this. That's all.
-
I also really would like to read the official translation too!
-
Read it to volume 7 then kinda just forgot about it. Hopefully it gets licensed by any translation company tbh,
-
I would also gladly read an official release of that novel. I think it deserves it.

I'd love to see an official release of either the novel or the manga (as I scanlate the latter) but Alphapolis seem reluctant to license anything oversees. As far as I know, the only official localisation from them is Gate:JSDF which is the most anti-Western in content of anything they publish. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure.
-
Love this series would greatly enjoy a translation for this.
-
@bravedude8 They seem okay licensing manga, it's their Light Novels which no publisher has managed to reach yet. Seven Seas publishes the Re:Monster manga in English after all.

I really liked the fan translation, so I would love to see an official release of this too!
But I’m not sure, if J-Novel Club will be able to license novels by this publisher... It would be really nice, if they could after all, since there are some novels I totally would like to see getting licensed. -
@clarabelle no access, Alphapolis is notorious for not giving any LN licenses out to any publisher (at least as far as US publishers go, not sure about Korea, or France, etc.)
-
I doupt we will ever get that serie, even if the publisher become more open to business with foreign market.
May be if the serie were to get an anime and SAO level of popularity, but otherwise the Fantrad is just too good and too completed.
A legit version wouldn't add much and since it's a 10+ serie it would likely be too much of a risk.
Plus the group is making money out of it so it can't be licence like Rokujuma. -
The fan TL does the job just fine, and quite honestly this is about as generic as it gets.
-
I would love to see this one getting officially translated, it‘s the best gaming novel ever next to A Wild Last Boss Appeared!!! Well, if J-Novel Club ever gets in a relationship with AlphaPolis, this novel absolutely must getting licensed!

Interesting. Still, it's gonna be a long 8 months wait.

Wow, an Alphapolis title. Don't see many of those get licensed. I'm not usually one to get a manga adaptation but I'll probably support this one since I enjoyed what I read of the novel and maybe it'll encourage them to get it too.
