Alt Title: The World Was a Death Game, so It's Fun.
JP title: 世界がデスゲームになったので楽しいです。

Otaku gamer high school student Shinji. Suddenly surrounded by zombies, he can level up if he defeats the zombies with his game knowledge! - Eh this is not a zombie outbreak, but a game-like world? Do you enjoy it? Shinji's game-like everyday life begins!!
Why Should JNC pick this up?
It's one of those bridge the gap Literature entries that is light novel in everything but publication designation, a regular novel label. Zombies. Game elements. The art on the covers is fantastic, though the inserts leave a bit to be desired I guess.
Are you going to be reading it?
I bought the two volumes, but I'm not sure. I'll at least be looking through it a bit when I have time. I don't believe these have translations anywhere.
How Many Volumes?
Only two. The second one looks a bit different (no outright zombies on the cover; people in the reviews saying it's more of a strategy RPG variety), so I assume the first one is somewhat self-contained at least in terms of setting? But I do fear it could be an "unfinished" series (I can't find anything definitive about it being over or no). The last release was January 2016.
Who is the publisher?
Kadokawa Shoten
I like this negative review for volume 2 if the Google Translate interpretation is right (spoilers for volume 2 setting).
Give me Ramen and not Udon noodles waiter! Don't mix my genres, lol.
I guess I might feel betrayed if I read a novel and it turned into something else I wasn't a huge fan of too.

Spotlight time! A friendly bump to an older post that hasn't had any recent conversation and is lower on votes in order to draw attention to it.

50% of people on novel updates are giving this a score of 1 out of 5.

Lets not up vote a series where 50% of people is giving it a score of 1 out of 5.
Give upvotes to whatever interests you.
This has a 3.5 out of 5 on Bookwalker / Bookmeter. The two volumes both hold a 3/5 on Amazon.
I don't know where you're getting the 1/5 review average, but if they're from a certain site with updates on novels, they could be reviewing a web novel version, which is both not the final version (may be a lack of editing) and being translated by a fan (could be quality issues).
I gave that site a quick look, and it seems like the main complaints are that the main character is OP, the character doesn't kill the female zombies (
) and disappointment at too much Ecchi. Some of these complaints are very subjective, a lack of interest in certain genre / tropes, not objectively bad quality concerns (besides the "not killing female zombies one" if there's no real justification for it). But I didn't click on the spoilers, so idk.
Again, do I think this is likely to get localized with those numbers now that you bring them up? Probably not if those are taken into account. But should you demand people not to show interest in the published light novel because people didn't like a fan translation of the original web novel version for pretty subjective reasons? I say no. Let people upvote what they want.

I looked it up at novel updates and that is also where I noticed the low score.
