Hmm, I'm fairly sure I saw a topic for this LN before but I can't find it right now.
-
@terabyte it was mentioned in few post but nobody made suggestion so i made one right now since series ended it would be nice to have this licenced and read the whole story :D
-
@theredjet Yep, you're right. I was thinking of another series instead: Seiken Tsukai no World Break. I don't know why but I often confuse the two series. 😩
-
Well maybe this series is too old to get licensed, but the author just announced a new light novel wich seems to have the same theme - magical battle academy. Maybe we will be more lucky with this one.
-
I'm not sure if there are enough people with enough patience to follow this kind of story through 20 volumes, the story is kind of generic. It can get interesting at some point, but most of the time you can guess the development, and that's especially true for the first 3 vols (a.k.a. the anime). I'm waiting for the fan translation of the last volume, but I have to admit that I only want to finish what I started when I did a spree on the school battle genre. The releasing speed for the last few volumes was slowed down (because the author needed to finish the zero no tsukaima series), and that actually helped keeping me from becoming too fed up with it.
Anw, it's unfortunate that this novel had to change illustrator twice. I still prefer the original style. -
i remember enjoying watching this when it aired. i would be interested in reading the LN as well.

Well, this is a series which has come to an end at 20. Have the series in Japanese so I can look at the printed images and hopefully someday read it quicker and better, grammar is still hard.
Out of curiosity, anyone know what has happened to the fan translation? -

@custodes dunno, maybe the translator is busy right now, vol.19 did not have a stable translating speed, but the delay in vol.20 is getting longer and longer...
-
@tgquan67 sad panda
-
The fan translator for this series translates from the Chinese translation and not directly from the Japanese source material. I'd say it's probably more likely that the Chinese translation only goes that far right now?
-
@chainpullz Pretty sure the translator only starts once the volume has been completely translated.
-
Surprised that this series is already completed.
Kinda dropped it after the long "no news" in the vol.14-15.This is my review from the fan-translation but this is one of the nice story.
The Harem plot is predictable indeed, but its still got me interested.
There is a lot of mystery that span from volume to volume that can keep me interested.
the character do develop overtime (though yeah most of the time they just cliche stereotyped character)meanwhile the anime is just like your "usual" anime adapted from LN while not complete shit. its still shit tier.
I only loss interest because the long wait time between vol 13-14-15-16 and since then I've got my interest on to Wuxia instead of japanese novel.
-
@shyevsa the was a long wait between volumes because the author had been secretly writing the final two volumes of Zero no Tsukaima.
-
@village-idiot ahh yeah I heard that rumor/news at redit few years ago but never actually fact-check it. I only remember that ZnT was unfinished after the author dead (yeah another LN that I was dropped after the Anime end) then it continued by "mysterious" author.
and honestly I hardly able to remember who write what so it never come to me. -
@shyevsa Not a rumor. It was revealed in the Zero no Tsukaima Memorial Book that was released after the last volume.
-
@village-idiot yup I guess at this point its not rumor anymore. it was just my impression at that time.
