@ariared26 is this still an issue?

Usually when I upload to google play npbooks it's takes up to 3 minutes for the upload, then about a minute to process, then it stays greyed out for another quick second, and finally the image appears.

Right now I am looking at google play books on my iPad but it still shows the images when I look on an android device.

@ariared26 are you talking about the prepub novels read through the app, or about the ePub files for the premium edition?

Try to re-download and if it doesn't help clear the cache then re-download, like explained here
