april 2020 catchup bug
-
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! the parts for volumes 1-4 where working on april 7th but on april 8th after 3 am clicking on a part other than volume 5 leads to error page.
-
Did the system possibly log you out and that is what is leading to the error?
I tried reading the parts on the app and they open fine.
Also tried on Chrome and Safari and they open fine.
Could you try refreshing, maybe clear your cookies and sign in and try again? If it still leads to an error could you post what browser you are using as well as what version you are on, so someone can look into it further.

Have tried both firefox and chromme multiple times including clearing all cookies, loging out and trying app. the error message is "Dog Song Plays in Background..."
-
@DreamsLeaking You're probably also gonna get that message on the other serie that JNC isn't authorized to distribute in Japan. The issue is geolocation being pretty bad (unrelated to catchup) and the official solution is 'download new IP lol' or something.
-
@_08 Must be something related to Bakarina, I had no problems reading anything when I was in Japan last year. I didn't read Bakarina over there though due to the delay.
-
@_08 Strange bug as i do not live in japan and as far as i know off hand my current ip is not close to japans standard ip list.
-
I just set my VPN to Japan was still able to access Bakarina Volumes 1-4 (did not even check V5).
Additionally the usually websites that would be blocked or have less content (like Crunchyroll) did reflect that I was under a Japan IP.
-
@sniper_samurai only bakarina and beast head are blocked. All other licensors just gave JNC international rights for english releases because why not.
@DreamsLeaking forgot to mention, you can check if it's geoblock by opening network tab in the browser tools (ctrl+I) and looking at response for .../PartData request
@Rahul-Balaggan just shows how bad detection is. At least no one is inconvenienced by false negatives.
-
@_08 yeah its a geo block did some testing and managed to get it to work with the app if i changed my phone's ip...so jclub accidently geoblocked part of canada as well
-
@DreamsLeaking could you please send your IP address to chocolatkey[at]j-novel.club? I'll take a look and try to fix this
-
@DreamsLeaking actually nevermind, could you just try again now? I've tried a fix that should hopefully work
-
@chocolatkey Thanks it is working now
