Something's been on my mind for a long time now.
Are there black haired people in Bookworm?
Not only that, but I’m waiting for other ethnicities to come into play. Maybe when the other countries are introduced. Even in worlds that are very fleshed out like in Smartphone, the only humans from what I remember with darker skin were barbarians. I don’t know of any dark-skinned humans being mentioned either in Realist Hero or Arifureta. I hope that’s not the case with Bookworm.

And what if it is?
That won't take away from the beautifully crafted, detailed world the author is building up for us to read- or would it?

Cover of Part 2 (Manga) Volume 4 coming out in October:
The volume looks like it will contain Part 2 (Manga) Chapters 16 to 21.
Its been 3 months now since J-Novel released Part 1 (Manga) Chapter 24 and Part 1 (Manga) goes up to Chapter 33(.5). Damn these delays. -
@LurkingMcLurk Don't forget that Part 2 and Part 3 of the manga are being created at the same time too which is both weird and great since whenever Part 2 gets completed, there will be several volumes for Part 3 ready to be licensed and translated. Now excuse me while I try to use a crystal ball for when season 3 of the anime will be announced/air.

Ahahahah. This is really funny.

Kazuki-sensei says:
I have a question regarding fan book 5 Q&A.
I want to take a poll on one question.
There is this one question I cradled my head. It is easy for me to answer, but I wonder how many people really like to know the answer.
In the past years ,there were also questions made me wonder "Why would they want to know such thing? Don't they get disappointed to know the answer?" Then when I answered, I got response, "I didn't want to know such a thing. Please leave such things to imagination.
So, here is the question.
Is Ferdinand a virgin?
How many of you really want to know the answer? Depends on the result, I will not answer this question.
- I really want to know
- Just leave it to our imagination

@hiroto Hahaha, I want to know. Because I'm sure he is :3
By the way, why is this thread in this section? It's hard to find and it makes no sense for it not to be in the Bookworm section. Is it here for non-members to join the discussion?

Yes, this topic and the anime topic were moved into the Bookworm sub-forum, and after some feedback from users we found that people did not want them moved into members only.

Still, it is tagged "bookworm" so it shows up in this list - https://forums.j-novel.club/tags/bookworm

A new chapter of the Part 3 manga just came out: Chapter 20 (First Half).
You can log in using Twitter (or other social media account) if you need to.
It's untranslated so I normally wouldn't post it here but I am to illustrate how the LN translations are now ahead of the Part 3 manga as this chapter only shows half of the harspiel concert. The Part 3 manga begin in April 2018. -
From author's retweet:

EDIT:
It is from Ferdinand Brewery in Czechia.
-
In Part 2 volume 4 it was mentioned that certain character has climbed the "towering staiway". Only after reading part 3 volume 1 I understood what that really means. Man, noble socieity is brutal...
-
@Sekki I have heard that the drive for uniformity can go so far as students who's hair is naturally not "black" having to color their hair.
-
@Sekki oh and you should have seen the poopstorm it sparked on the members only forums. Had its own topic and 3 of every 2 Ferdinand supporters found him too evil for their tastes
-
@alfonso_rd_36 3 of every 2?
-
Well I asumed it at first it might be "that" but I thought "nah, that is too brutal" and dissmissed it but now since it was used in combination with certain 3rd wife it confimed it for me. Tbh I was a bit shocked. It is also expected that certain attendant was who used this euphemism ,since he spent his whole life with nobles, instead of using direct meaning.
I am really surprised how light novel author can be this good at writing. I read some books from Hugo award winners (since I like SF) but they were not as good as Miya Kazuki. Best example is Martha Wells and her Murderbot series where she introduces new characters and then throw them away. Basically they are bland characters who push story forward just to be discarded after 100-200 pages. I find that to be lazy writting. Not to mention books are rly rly short and costs 2-3 more then AoB.
In Ascendance of Bookworm you see how side characters evolve due to Myne influence like Frida who becommes a bit less greedy (just a bit thou :) and Benno that is no longer set dead on on maximizing proffit no matter what.

@Paul-Nebeling Never underestimate the power to be divisive that the walking trauma dispenser that is Ferdinand has.
-
Apropos of nothing in particular, but... I was on Amazon for other reasons, and it popped up a recommendation for AooB, under "Children's books" rather than "Young adults".
-
@SomeOldGuy All the ebooks for bookworm are under the "Children's eBooks" section, but not the paperback ones. It has been like that since the first book was released. I bet it's Amazon's bots fault.
-
@SomeOldGuy I wouldn't trust amazon as far as I can throw Jeff Bezos (Unless We're talking about the Kamen riders)
-
@Alanoud It’s also KDP’s fault for not allowing J-Novel to categorize them as light novels, which they would be doing if it were an option. Fantasy and “children’s novels” are basically as close as it gets. I do agree Young Adult would be more appropriate, but that would also bury it in tens of thousands of other listings.
