Reason for recommendation

This is a new series by the author of Butareba, solely focused on high school rom-com. I'd describe it as Hyouka for the Reiwa-era. There's mysteries, low-key romance, and most importantly, showcasing the use of the scientific method in solving mysteries.
The author's narrative and dialog crafting skills are top notch, if his previous series (Butareba) didn't already clue you in to it.
