The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done! Volumes 1-3 Discussion!
-
I had noticed a couple of weeks ago that in the new Bookwalker site they had changed the publisher from nothing to J-Novel Club; now I know why.
Something to point out, though: as can be seen on GoodReads, despite the fact that you are keeping the exact same format for the cover illustrations, there's a mistake at least on book 1 (I'd have to check books 2 and 3 more closely, but I believe those have no issues): in the original japanese edition, as well as in SB Creative's (the original publisher) version, in volume 1 Ai was making a "quiet" sign (extended pointer finger before her lips) on the cover, while she was holding a shogi piece in the inner cover; in your version, she's holding a shogi piece in both.

@Kemm-mf Now that you mention it, you're right. At least for the front cover.
The original BookWalker seemed to have gotten this correct as well, so it's weird that they messed it up here.
@myskaros If this can be fixed, that would be much appreciated
As mentioned in the original post...
There will be no corrections thread until we start prepubs for volume 19, so please send any errors you find to support@j-novel.club.

@Hylebos missed that line, sorry.
E-mail sent.

Great news! Can you say when volume 19 will begin translation? Will the ".5" books be translated?
Thanks.
-
Why 3 books per month? Once we've released all 18 volumes, we will be streaming later volumes as they're translated like most of our other books!
They have declined comment on the .5 volumes.

If we get three books a month, then next January I think...

- For anyone who already bought these books on Bookwalker Global, your library will be updated with the new JNC version very soon!
Just noting that this is still in progress; unfortunately we have no specific ETA on when existing owners will get access to the JNC editions.

The opening scene of volume 1 is a masterpiece of efficiency in writing. Just this one scene lets me know what might otherwise have taken several volumes to achieve --- that I don't want to read this.

You're missing out, the second scene was even more memorable than the first.

Given how much I'd rather not remember the first scene, this is hardly a recommendation.

Nah nah, just skip ahead to the chapter entitled "Yaichi's Gratitude", you don't even need any context from the first scene, she doesn't even appear in the chapter. It's deranged for a completely different reason. I cannot accept you dropping the series without first experiencing the pain of its one-two punch opener. :P
