Ryuo's Work is finally here! JNC is very excited to have the opportunity to bring this unique series to more readers!

I have some notes to share about the unique release of this series below:

      • Volumes 1-18 of this series were originally translated and released exclusively on Bookwalker Global. JNC's releases use those translations as a base, and we've cleaned things up a bit to be closer to our style in terms of localizations, formatting, and other minor things. In other words, this is not a brand new translation.
      • JNC will be directly publishing 3 volumes per month until we're caught up. This means there will be no streaming parts for subscribers aside from the usual part 1 sample.
        • Why 3 books per month? Once we've released all 18 volumes, we will be streaming later volumes as they're translated like most of our other books! So we want to give anyone interested in the series ample time to read the first 18 books before the new ones start streaming :)
        • While parts for volumes 1-18 will not be streamed, they can still be rented, and any users who purchase the books on JNC can read them directly on the website or app as usual. However, we do encourage you to download and read the EPUB for the color illustrations, character profiles, and images included in the full ebook!
        • Because this is a unique release, you may notice that there is an expiration date on the series page, but parts 2+ will all be pre-expired, if that makes sense.
      • For anyone who already bought these books on Bookwalker Global, your library will be updated with the new JNC version very soon! You will also be able to buy the books on other ebook platforms that sell J-Novel Club ebooks as soon as you see the listings go up on those stores!
      • Volumes 4-6 are being worked on now and will be coming in mid-August 2026!
      • There will be no corrections thread until we start prepubs for volume 19, so please send any errors you find to support@j-novel.club.

Anyway, get ready for shogi, comedy hijinks, character drama, and more shogi!

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Allegedly the series is ending with its 21st volume so there will only be 3 more volumes to be translated.

Uh, I may have double dipped a bit too soon, didn't know that last bit. How do they even link the accounts? email? Because that's pretty much the only thing that connects them in my case..

I had noticed a couple of weeks ago that in the new Bookwalker site they had changed the publisher from nothing to J-Novel Club; now I know why.

Something to point out, though: as can be seen on GoodReads, despite the fact that you are keeping the exact same format for the cover illustrations, there's a mistake at least on book 1 (I'd have to check books 2 and 3 more closely, but I believe those have no issues): in the original japanese edition, as well as in SB Creative's (the original publisher) version, in volume 1 Ai was making a "quiet" sign (extended pointer finger before her lips) on the cover, while she was holding a shogi piece in the inner cover; in your version, she's holding a shogi piece in both.
