The forums look different to me today, and I can't find the control for choosing to ignore a thread I'm not interested in any more.

Can anyone tell me where to look for that?

@b-scot-morgan it's at the top right. There's 4 buttons there, starting from the right: Reply, Sort, watch/ignore, and Mark unread.

@pcj wow, the current appearance has those 3 buttons other than reply completely obscured.

@GeorgeMTO yeah, they blend right into the background, you have to be looking at it just right to see them.

The buttons are white over a white background for me. They don't show up at all without a mouseover and are impossible to notice on a phone.

              More issues:

              • Spoiler buttons don't work.
              • All quotes are in italics now.

                Ah.
                So it wasn't just me.
It's so long since I attempted to use the spoiler function I was assuming I'd forgotten something you shouldn't include within spoilered text.

They're dark gray on a black background for me.

They exist, but on my phone all but reply are white symbols on a white background and completely invisible and unreadable, I have to blindly tap and hope I get the right one.

Edit: after poking around to try to figure out how to turn dark mode on hoping it would make things visible, I went to my profile in the top right, clicked settings, and one of the options was skins, which provided a broad selection of different color schemes, which is a great improvement except that it clears my selection and returns to the default color scheme with invisible buttons as soon as I navigate away from the settings page.

@Valanduin If you haven't found it yet, there's a 'save changes' button down at the bottom.

Thanks to you I was able to locate them using the mouseover method. Much obliged.

I hope they adjust the color scheme a bit to make them more visible in the future.

Thanks, I didn't think to scroll and save, that isn't necessary on most sites I used, the "darkly" skin makes the buttons visible, the contrast is still very poor but they are at least possible to see. I will have to try some of the others to see if there are better options.

Anyone know of a way to make the notifications a 1-click solution as they were with the previous forum format? At least with my current forum skin/appearance, I have to click on my place-holder image, then click on the bell, then click on “all notifications”, and then I get to a page dedicated to the notifications. With the previous format, the bell was ever-present at the top of the page and would display the recent ones overlayed on the forum when selected. They now appear to be buried under layers of menus. Accessing notifications was kinda like this when using Safari on my iOS phone, but not like this when I used Safari on my 11” iPad. Maybe it’s different on a full computer’s browser? Maybe the iPad’s now lumped under the less-functional category of “mobile devices” and I need to tell something to serve the full meal rather than the mobile snack version?

The main “unread threads” page doesn’t look as good either, but I don’t have any screenshots of the old look to a/b compare it in order to possibly give a better explanation.

                            I don’t like this change so far…. <sigh>

I agree with @Ingraman 's comment on notifications. Very often I just like to go through the new ones and only click on new post notifications.

Also looks like the "unread" section is broken. I get notifications of new posts but I don't see those threads in the unread section.

Edited to add: The experience in laptop browser is not much better compared to mobile. In the "recent" section, those threads I have read and have no new posts since were easily recognisable - The titles were not formatted bold. But now, it is not the case. I would really like to have it back because I don't want to keep reopening threads. This is important because sometimes I am not "watching" a thread (which will result in a notification) but still casually follow it in the "recent" section.

@Valanduin I was also using Darkly. But with the appearance changes, the best alternative to dark mode now might be Cyborg or Slate. The color contrast is annoying to the eyes though.

I'm using Sandstone instead. Unfortunate it's not a dark theme but at least the colors are somewhat muted & the buttons/quotes/etc. are clear & visible.
