Catchup Titles Archive (Updated to March 2024)
-
@terabyte Time to change the Wikipedia page! :-D
-
I really hope this is foreshadowing a new isekai mahou volume finally.
-
@redmaw Not to burst your bubble, but I don't think anyone has heard anything new :< probably more that it hasn't been on catchup yet.
-
May is here and while it still may be a few days until catchups are updated let's speculate on what they'll be!
Other than Infinite Dendrogram, the series for April Catchup were clustered right next to each other on the acquisition-ordered titles page, so maybe the next 3-4 light novels? So Lazy Dungeon Master, Archdemon's Dilemma, Amagi Brilliant Park, and Kokoro Connect.
For what I'd personally like to see, I have a lot of time now that I've graduated and am waiting for the next phase of things to start, and so I'd probably at least check out anything that's not too ecchi that pops up, but for the things I know I want to check out Archdemon's Dilemma, Seirei Gensouki, and My Next Life as a Villainess are on my list. I'd also been following the physical releases of Grimgar before I'd joined and would like to bridge over at some point, but due to school I have a stack of volumes for that that I've yet to read and would rather see the catchup for that title in a later month.

I think (hope) Mixed Bathing in Another Dimension is a likely candidate since volume 6 is finally coming out at the end of this month. Or maybe it will be in June's catchup when V6 parts will start(?) coming out...
-
@terabyte I'd thought that title sounds... suspicious? But I've heard it's actually pretty good and not as ecchi as one might think from the title?
-
@yumenokage No idea myself but I heard the same thing. I'm actually hoping it's on catchup to check it out 😁
-
@terabyte Through 5 volumes, mixed bathing and contact healing magic have been the most blatant ecchi parts. No body has been getting more intimate than washing hair and backs.
Although the hero has had to use healing magic on one character's breasts multiple times.
I had held off buying it because of the title and description, but it's been a good read. Waiting for v6...

Ahh, I forgot to also put Faraway Paladin in my list of things I know I want to check out.
-
Despite what the covers and title suggest, it is one of the most wholesome isekai/harem light novels I've read. Yeah there's frequent bath scenes and all the fanservice that comes with that, but it still feels innocent and sweet. He wants to bathe with the girls, yes, but he is upfront about it, explains how his power works, and confirms whether they are okay with bathing together every step of the way. The characters actually communicate with each other, and consent is very important.
-
Yeah, as I said, I've heard good things of it. The only reason I didn't check it out before is because I don't like picking up series that are dropped(?). But volume 6 is finally come out which was the last push I needed to decide to read it.
I'll just have to live with the fact that the author is really slow in publishing new volumes. V5 took 1 year and 3 months and V6 took 1 year and 10 months 😧

@yumenokage You definitly should try the Faraway paladin it's one of JNC best series and overall a great LN.
The manga isn't nearly as good tho. -
I also forgot to put Realist hero in my catchup wishlist. So it's actually, if I'm not forgetting anything else, in no particular order,
- Faraway Paladin
- Elf Bride
- Realist Hero
- Seirei Gensouki
- My Next Life as a Villainess
- Grimgar (but sometime later this summer rather than this month)

@sinnoaria I can understand what you are saying about reading speed, though I can only hit 12-14 in a day if I'm reading like that.
The only issue I run into is that I tend to not immerse myself in the world of the story and enjoy it less as a result. You must have amazing processing capabilities in comparison to me then.
P.S.- Sorry for the necro post. -

@sinnoaria Have you tryed Kindle quick reading ?
At 900 words per minute it should be fast enought even for you, it does take some time to get use to reading that way tho. -
May 2019 catchups:
- Kokoro Connect
- Amagi Brilliant Park
- Lazy Dungeon Master
- Seirei Gensouki
-
First post updated.
I'm not reading Kokoro and I'm caught up with everything else. I'll hope Mixed Bathing shows up on catchup next month.

People keep saying nice things about it so I'd like to give it a try too.
I might try Kokoro even though it doesn't sound at all like my cup of tea. I already have all of Lazy Dungeon Master (well, once the premium epub for 5 is out) and Seirei Gensouki.

If I can give my own take on Mixed Bathing (Spoiler Free)
It started slow, real slow but after the first 25% of V1 it has been great, it honestly amazes me how something could be so boring to start and then be great consistently for several volumes.
All my own reading experience.
