Outer Ragna and the Soap one for me I guess if I have time.
Last month's catch-up was really good, but I just didn't invest the time into it (did get through Discommunication at least).

Updated the main post with the first update for 2021! (●'◡'●)

Maybe I'll give Least Interesting Master Swordsman another try. It lived up to its title a bit too much for me, but perhaps it gets wildly exciting later on?

Updated the main post with February 2021!
A lot of caught up LNs this time around; especially from the Legend label... ( ﹁ ﹁ )
-
I hope those Legend label series continue. Fingers crossed.
Almost two years from last release for Economics though...
-
Hmm...
Kobold King was numbingly boring the first time I tried reading it, so I'll pass on trying again. Magic too far behind I think I got though the first volume and mostly just wanted to beat the protag with a stick for being so damn annoying.
The rest don't hold any interest for me, with the possible exception of Her Majesty's Swarm... anyone got any thoughts on if it's worth reading?
-
@xdrfiredogx Magic Behind's first volume was indeed kinda bad. It gets better later on thought, give it one more chance if you've got the time.

I ignored that one for a couple of years based on the description, but I started it last night and enjoyed the first 3 parts of volume 1.
So far it has a feel that's a little like Overlord with a lighter tone, That's based on just 3 parts though, it's too soon to tell.
Magic Behind
For me liked the first 3-5 volumes then the anime cliche trope humor took over more and more, complete with accidental peeping and a really annoying chuuni.

What's going on with translation of welcome to Japan ms. Elf volume 6? Apparently it's already published and in print in Japan since July 22, 2020. It's already February 2021. So I am a bit curious on what happened here? Same thing about My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! volume 9 which came out in April of 2020 in Japan. I'm just curious on the delay.

The translator for Ms. Elf also works on another series (I want to say Potions?) and can really only do one translation at a time while maintaining the degree of quality we expect from JNC. Not sure about Villainess but I'd be willing to bet that if it's not a case of "The translator already has X series, X+1 is more than they can handle" it's a case of "The contract hasn't yet been signed, so we don't announce it".

Updated the main post with March 2021!
This month includes: 3 complete series; 3 series (2 LN & 1 manga) where the next volume should be starting soon.
-
And there goes April's catchups: 2 complete LNs, 4 ongoing LNs, 2 manga. Three LN series are on catchup for the first time and one other series' last volume is being translated.
-
I Refuse To Be Your Enemy is a good version of "video game villainess tries not to die" with a smart and brave heroine.
When The Clock Strikes Z is entertaining. From the afterwords the author originally planned for four volumes but after unremarkable sales of volume one the publisher said to wrap it up with volume two. This was apparently early in the volume two process since it has a full ending not a one page "and this is what I didn't get to write" ending like Bluesteel Blasphemer.
If you liked Z, a more cute and silly LN about zombies from Cross Infinite World is Another World's Zombie Apocalypse Is Not My Problem! which is a self-contained story but it just got a sequel anyway (which is also fun) last November,
-
Nothing for me this month, but that's the nature of the business.
Gonna catch up on some purchased stuff I guess.

Suddenly glad I never bothered getting around to Bluesteel, rushed endings really grate on me. It sucks that stuff can be considered "complete" despite being at varying levels of 'not really' to 'absolutely not' (looking at you, "Apparently It's My Fault That My Husband has the Head of a Beast").

Updated with May 2021 catchups. 😺

I never read that Brave Chronicle one, so I guess that's on my list now.

Same here.
Ms. Elf is cute and fun for anyone who hasn't tried it.

I second this. I enjoyed reading the manga so much I ended up binge reading the LN. I recommend it to any one who is looking for something cute and fun this month.
-
@lily-garden Might just take you up on that. I did read the first part or two but was just too busy when it was releasing to read more.
Echo I tried reading when it came out but was lost trying to make even the smallest bit of sense of it.
Magic far behind I just posted like 10 posts ago how I didn't like the LN so... naw dawg.
Slayers I do recommend, if anyone is considering it. I never watched any of the anime (which is kind of crazy, thinking about it) so can't compare that but it's a fun action/comedy that reads easy and feels like it's from exactly when it is. Lina cracks me up and the group gets into some crazy situations.
Oh, and Infinite Dendrogram is one of the series that convinced me to get a membership, back in the day. Probably my 3rd or 4th favorite series that JNC releases. Avoid the anime like the plague but do go and read the LN. Does a good job presenting the "super realistic video game world" in such a way that 14 volumes in and I can't definitively say if it's all real or all smart coding, while presenting enough unique things to keep the story interesting.
